Inhuman For Your Thoughts
Over the decades we have been influenced by our favorite superheroes and comic book characters within all walks of life. They inspire us to believe in a world filled with wonder and imagination. They help us escape reality for a while and get sucked into a really cool story involving major players like Captain America, Superman, Thor, The Hulk, Aquaman and many more. It's the centerpiece of finding within that raving hero that lives inside many of us. We do have heroes in real life plus many villains and we want those heroes taking down the bad guys. But do superhumans live among us?
In reality you can't fly or shoot lasers out of your eyes or have strength like the Hulk but we do have however some amazing human beings being able to do extraordinary things. Great minds like Einstein and Tesla, incredible athletes that seem to have god-like powers like hitting a homerun 500 feet, run the 100 meters in around 9.5 seconds, picking up 1000 pounds, bending/snapping wrenches in half and even withstand high doses of electricity. I'm learning about a series of heroes in Marvel called the Inhumans; earthlings that have superhuman abilities from an ancient entity that harnesses their senses and abilities that is different to each individual. Some of you may know more of the Royal Family of the Inhumans such as Medusa, Black Bolt, Karnack, Triton and the Satyr Gorgon. They're kind of like the Ancient Greek Family the Olympians just on a different scale with different powers but all related to each other. What's amazing is that some of these characters have near real-life counterparts that have insane abilities. Triton who is like a fish with the body-like of a man who is practically the king of water, we have athletes that have abilities to swim for long periods of time under water; Medusa as you may have guessed has the long hair and can control even the tiniest particle at will to create some serious damage, think there isn't someone out there that has crazy hair like strength? Some women do but one of the strongest hairs belongs to a man named Joseph Greenstein aka The Mighty Atom that had the hair strength to hold back a plane. Why not Blackbolt, the king of the Inhuman Royal Family (who's also married to Medusa) that has the ability to fire sonic screams to take down enemies, there's a woman out there I forgot her name but her screams had reached decibel levels that are off the chain. Let's not forget Gorgon; a animalistic entity that has the upper body of a man and the lower body of a wild goat (sounds similar to Pan don't you think). He is a trainer of the Inhumans that can take down a city block just with the strength of his legs in a mighty stomp. Some of the strongest athletes in the world have immense leg strength even though they don't have the legs of a satyr; they can run incredibly fast, lift insane amount of weight and have super muscle that allows them to lift well over a ton.
We may not have superpowers but with the right training and the right tools, we can become far stronger than the average human and develop incredible athletic ability. To get an idea of developing incredible strength, one can lift odd objects like rocks, stones, logs, kegs, heavy pipes, furniture anything that has you working the stabilizer muscles in an awkward position. Develop explosiveness through jumping or sprinting. Imagine having your own set of abilities that sets you as a unique individual and be able to generate great power in the blink of an eye using a technique(s) that gives you incredible energy. Use your gifts and abilities to possibly save lives, help others and get a realistic edge over your competition. How sweet would it be to hit a ball further, speed down the field with no one able to catch you, hoist up another human from falling and even protect the ones you love with intensity and insane strength? You can do the ordinary routines and live your life like nothing's going to happen but why not have that Superhero Mentality and infuse your imagination to grow stronger and build incredible muscle that is useful and functional. You have a choice. What would your favorite hero want you to do?

A Satyr For Thought
As you may have read in your Greek Mythology or Roman Mythology books (or watched Chronicles Of Narnia), you may have noticed a god that is both human and animal and not as ugly as the Minotaur. It's a half-man and half-goat creature known as a Satyr or Faunus to the Romans. This creature can be seen as beautiful or terrible looking but in the end he's a god that is different, unique and misunderstood. To Christians (most of them at least) he's looked at as the devil that is the sin of desire, pleasure, drink and sexuality but sinned because of being born not from nature. For the most part, you can't really condemn the poor guy, hell he's half-goat for crying out but he's also a god of the wilderness, the burning desire to love and sing with heart and beauty. His legs and horns are the mere foundation of his powerful strength and unadulterated superhuman hormones. This outlook is what draws those (except for Nymphs) to learn how to get that kind of strength, how would you develop that kind of leg power and hip drive?
Every single human being on this planet has the desire to do something whether it's good, evil or ugly its nature and we are the most complicated species on this earth. We desire something that we hold dear, some go after a job they worked hard to get into and have a passion for it, some join a convent to desire the will of god and help among the word of the bible, others just desire certain they either have or can't have but yet it burns within them and many things can come out when it comes to passion. What the Satyr teaches us in desires is to live with life and desire what you please and although it can get out of hand that's where you channel your passion and what you want to be successful in anything you wish to accomplish. In our bodies, the strongest and most enduring are legs from the hip all the way down to the feet; we dance, we jump, we run, we walk, we kick, we squat and do all sorts of things. Our lower bodies give off the most powerful hormones because that's where our sex organs are and we need those to reproduce offspring but they can do other things too like give off great energy if you apply them the right way (not talking just sex here). Training the legs feed energy and power into those muscles, tendons, bones, joints and even the organs because if you move with certain intentions you're unlocking the true secrets of our natural growth hormones.
There are two sides to practically everything in life and there's no questioning that. You can say there's only one or maybe 4 and 5 but usually ends up being one side or the other of the coin. Within all of us there is both good and evil. I really hate to break it to you but not every single person who has killed or broken someone's heart hell even tortured somebody is evil and not every goodie too shoes has a rainbow personality to them, it's a matter of balance of that individual and what drives to be either one or the other or both. I for one have a good personality, I can get along with just about anyone, I'm a loving person and very caring but if you do something to me or anybody I love and care about I will find a way to destroy you one way or another and I won't think twice about it. We are all capable of killing someone although most likely it will never come to that but if an opportunity arises you have no idea what they're capable of especially when it comes to parents or other types of people. On the other side if you are a person who is loving, helpful, caring and is happy you will feed off that energy around people whether you or they realize it or not. In the beginning I mentioned the Satyr has been known in many religious formats as a horned and ugly figure because of not just his looks but his personality and the desire for lust, drink and sex but if you truly looked up close he's a creature with love, song, dance and is one hormonal son of a bitch but he feeds off powerful energy that is complex.
As a god the Satyr or as we call him in Greek Mythology Pan, loves what he does; he sings, he dances, he chases girls and is an underrated creature that desires life to the fullest without people giving a damn what they think of him. Although he was born a unique creature, he lived with a purpose and is even a savior in some stories as he played a mighty role in helping the Olympians defeating the Titans. I'll let you figure that out on your own. So you see, he is also a hero but yet still feeds of the energy of his powers of the wilderness. Physically we can have a powerful fit body by training our legs in different ways yet mentally if you apply it right for you, certain exercises for the legs can be the most brutal forms of training but still drive you to build powerful muscle, natural hormone levels and expand your strength both physically and mentally. Truly love what you were meant to do, give off great energy with what you do, share with those that you feel deserve to hear and never forget to understand the true power of your nature.
Happy Thor's Day everyone, be awesome and get those legs moving.

Crazy Strength While Walking
When it comes to Mythology, there are many creatures in certain stories like dragons, half man half beasts and many others but when it comes to pure power and strength one of the most legendary creatures the Centaur is famous for. A Centaur basically is a man with a human head to torso with a horse's lower body. When you have that much strength to go with it's not just that it's crazy speed, the tendons of a great animal and if you want to put a little humor to it you can call this guy a real horse's ass. We're going to be looking into The Chiron Program where it teaches how to handle weight while carrying it in different ways.
Now one of the greatest exercises for pure raw strength is the Farmer's Walk, taking an object of each hand (hopefully with equal weight) and walking with it for distance; this could be dumbbells, kettlebells, buckets of sand and/or water putting thick grips on the handles to make it harder and other possible ways. This is truly a man's man exercise. Now imagine pressing the weight overhead and walking that way in different directions, why not clean them and walk that, it's all how you use your imagination. Being able to imagine you're this mythical creature with superhuman qualities and progressing to a great amount of weight, think with great focus. Ever see the strongman competitions that are on ESPN from time to time? These carry weight pretty much with ease, now think what it would be like to lift and carry furniture to help a friend move or being able to save someone's life if they're trapped, bringing that dead weight to your torso and just take off.
Using your imagination is a key to being very successful in your endeavor, if you're too realistic and think nothing of what you only see with your eyes, you can be successful but not in a much bigger manner. When you open up your mind to the world of the possible, picturing yourself with a much stronger body and can handle greater stress, applying it productively in real time with a progressive system that gets you firing your success rate will jump. Work towards building up to bigger weight or whatever you can handle, lift with efficiency so you don't hurt yourself in the process. Imagine being a real Centaur with a powerful upper body and a superhuman lower body with legs that can kill a man with a single kick, a back that can carry a couple people and has vast energy burning within of the wild beast.
Like the story of Atlas, you literally and figuratively have the weight resting on your shoulders and body. It's not easy holding up vast weight and having to carry it but it can make you crazy strong and fast. Imagine having a weight vest on and walking a mile or less with it that's around 100 lbs. more than your bodyweight, take it off after you're done and you're practically floating as you walk and doing it with speed. It is important to train and let it be useful for nearly any situation, a powerful body that can help others and not just to pose like a pretty boy. Being a beast is not always how big or bad you are, it's the strength you possess both inside and outside and using it to the best of your abilities to help one another. The weight may rest literally on you but you have the power to move and not just carry it but push and pull with great power. You can be a smaller guy and have incredible strength, it's all about how you're willing to carry the weight from a mental stand point and letting it carry over to the physical side, hint Mind/Muscle Connection.
Have a great Wednesday guys, be awesome and carry your weight with power and might.

Enhancing The Natural Abilities In Your Body
Although we are born with certain abilities and learn either
faster or slower than others, it’s still noted that we find something we are
strong or weaker in no matter what it is. To enhance our abilities, we must
practice what is in our imaginations, how our body is congruent with our
thoughts and how we apply certain techniques to create the super strength and
speed that we desire. Yes I realize we can’t be the X-Men or have the
intelligence of Batman or even have the uncanny supernatural abilities of a
Vampire; however, we can jump start our bodies to run a little faster, jump a
bit higher and highly emphasize our strength levels without the need for
steroids or performance enhancing drugs.
I find
Vampires fascinating not because of the way they look or how charming/evil they
are; I’m fascinated by their enhanced abilities at a supernatural level. Once
a human is bitten, he/she is driven into darkness without warning or choice but
on the other side of the coin they’re given a gift and a curse of powers that
generate more than any human; the ability to fly, see, hear, touch, smell and
given greater strength, speed and ascended physical attributes. What if (minus
the flying part) we could generate our bodies abilities like that even by 1% to
save someone’s life, jump higher out of hazardous ground, run faster out of
danger and have the strength to carry your family to safety. Most of the time,
we can only enhance our natural abilities for a short time because of adrenaline
and the reaction to a situation in that time frame.
There’s
energy all around us, in the words of Obi Wan “It surrounds us and penetrates us
and binds the galaxy together.” Sure he was talking about the force but it’s
practically the same thing just in a different format. The energy we all have
can be greatly higher if we use our mind and body as if it were the same thing.
Although they’re different yet in unison, it can greatly enhance your life by
100 fold. The way you make certain sound can make you stronger or weaker, the
way you visualize and move with it can either make you very flexible or very
stiff. When you create a thought, a result comes into play. I’m not if you
think you’re going to lose 20 pounds in less than 2 days it’s going to happen,
what I ‘am saying is that if you think differently and open up your mind, your
results can come much quicker. It doesn’t matter how old you are, how strong or
how you think your brain works, just to have one thought and put into action
can have the greatest impact. Internalize your energy and let it flow through
your body using certain techniques and you’ll find that you can generate
greater abilities than you already have.
Nowadays
especially in athletics, drugs are the main course for the competition. Men and
women use Steroids either by injection, pills or whatever to greatly ascend
their natural abilities to crush their competition. Hit more homeruns, run
faster to tackle or score a touchdown, kick a ball further into the goal post,
jump higher to grab a rebound and see the basket clearer to make a jump shot;
these are all the things athletes can do but it doesn’t need to be that way.
With the techniques you can learn from CoreForce Energy, there won’t be any
side effects that can have you deteriorate later in life, matter of fact it can
help you stay young, vibrant and crazy strong and supple if you practice it. It’s
not just athletics drugs are involved; its academics, business, losing weight,
law enforcement and even kids are doing them and it’s stupid. You have more
power in you than you can imagine. You can create greater strength and
abilities if you apply yourself and your body will greatly thank you for it.
When you take those drugs and your abilities take hold, remember it’s only for
a small time and in order to keep it up you need to keep taking them and before
you know it, you’re an addict. You can be smarter, stronger, faster and have
better senses if you practice things that don’t require things that can kill
you. Be better than that and know that you can be better. My drug of choice is
CoreForce Energy.
Happy Monday guys. Be awesome and have a great start to a
new week.

The Bodyweight Exploits Of Spiderman
Out of the many classic superheroes, Spiderman seems to be
the most athletic in the sense where he doesn’t have the weightlifter physique
or the bodybuilder look but he moves like an athlete should. He has the most
control in his body to weight ratio and moves with unbelievable grace and power
at the same time.
In
Bodyweight Training, you learn to control your body through movements that
require no equipment (unless you do pull-ups). For the most part when people
begin lifting weights they don’t realize that mastering your own bodyweight ought
to be more important before even touching a weight. I’ve seen guys in the gym who
can lift more than double their bodyweight but can’t hold their own in a single
push-up or pull-up. Handling your own bodyweight goes a long way in learning
how to contract and extend the muscles with fluidity and great power. Some use
Yoga to do Bodyweight Training, others learn how to master their body through
Handbalancing or Gymnastics.
Mastering
your body in various directions can give you strength that weights can’t touch.
Think of it like this, a man can bench press 400 lbs. but most likely can’t do
400 push-ups; the two exercises are different but one uses more muscles than
the other. I’m not saying if you could do 400 push-ups you’ll automatically
lift that same number but yet you have mastered an exercise that requires deep
concentration, working more than the upper body and there are many variations
you can do. To master your bodyweight, you work from as many angles as possible
using as many muscles in a single exercise. Karl Gotch once said “you don’t
need to do much, for doing a lot.” You can have ultimate mastery when you can
control your body in very difficult movements or holds like a free standing handstand,
one-legged squat, finger pull-ups, front levers with one arm, the iron cross on
the gymnastic rings, the various planch positions these are all examples of
what great mastery can achieve.
When
most learn bodyweight training, they usually go through the motions and just
learn an exercise. Now here’s a small tip to create bigger results; learn to
use your imagination. Creating a vision in your mind and applying it to your
exercises can generate even greater strength because a different thought
creates a different result. When you do squats, instead of just counting reps
and thinking of just squats, picture in your mind something cool that makes you
do squats like if you have to duck from a hazardous object like Indiana Jones
did in the Last Crusade or doing Hindu Squats and imagining you have to row a
boat where you squat down and rowing the oars, think of the result coming out
of that and how much fun it can be and not dreading just the exercise. Thinking
differently with feeling can give you far greater results than just going
through the motions. Picture yourself
being superhuman and training to save your city from evil.
Spiderman
is one of those superheroes most can relate to, sure he has super powers we don’t
have but like anyone else, he can be hurt or worse get killed. He doesn’t have
that overpowering physique most heroes have; full of muscle and all that, he
just seems like a regular guy when he’s not being a superhero. Don’t forget,
some of the ordinary looking people can have extraordinary gifts. Don’t judge a
book by its cover.
Be awesome everyone, have a badass weekend and have fun.
First day of summer is tomorrow, the longest day of the year, make it a blast.

Conserving Your Breathing
The breath is the most important factor in the human body.
We can for days without water, weeks without food but yet we can only live a
few minutes holding our breath. The way we breathe in the fitness world is a
bit strange at times. You can breathe in and out your nose or mouth; breathe in
through the nose, out the mouth or in the nose and out the nose. There are many
ways to breathe but during exercise apparently we have to breathe in and out
one time with one rep. That’s how we’re normally taught, even in bodyweight
type exercises like the squat and push-up, inhale up, exhale down or vise
versa.
What if we
switched gears a bit so you can get a few extra reps without breathing in and
out every single time? Learn to breathe differently, conserve your energy and
your breathing. If you’re breathing too much, too early, you may get wined.
It’s like a wrestling match, you need to keep your body strong and supple and
part of that is your breathing, if you get winded too quickly (or as they say
in pro wrestling you Blow Up), you won’t be as efficient and you won’t be able
to handle the stress and possibly end up losing. What does the breath feel
like, sound like and where does the driving force of it come from. Do an
exercise like push-ups, inhale for 2 reps and exhale for 2 reps, you just did 4
reps in one breath. Now do it a little consistently. It’s not easy and it takes
getting use to but you can get more out of your reps with the control of your
breathing power.
Doing the
same old thing can lead to boredom and as the definition of insanity is; doing
the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Here at Power
& Might, I look to help you find and give information that can help you
from another perspective. Thinking differently, helping you get more out of
what most people teach. Deep Breathing is one of the most powerful aspects of
Physical Culture because it doesn’t just help you become physically strong but
mentally strong as well.
Fluidity is
another important aspect of your training. Like Bruce Lee has stated being like
water, it’s fluid, powerful and can give life as well as destroy it. Moving
with grace and power is far more important than grunting, making little mad
faces and being narrow dimensional. Expand your power; one course that is the
center of this is CoreForce Energy, teaching how to expand your power, your
breathing and your imagination to instantly get stronger and faster. Open up to
building a stronger body from within and take your strength to levels that you
thought were impossible.
Be awesome my friends.

More On The Hands
Having powerful hands can be life saving. The grip power and
strength you build from different methods gives you that raw and ferocious
power of being able to lock anything within your grasp. When you bend steel,
you wrap up the nail, wrench, screwdriver or whatever; you squeeze with
everything you have and you work the wrist along with the whole body and you
give that object no mercy. Ripping a deck of cards gives you that mighty
twisting strength in your hands and your wrists while taking your body to a
whole new level. Gripping a odd object and doing whatever you want with it,
even though it’s awkward, it gives you the strength that forces you to
stabilize the muscles and tendons.
Not all
grip work should have a focus on strength because if all you do is strengthen
the hands and lower arm, you’re missing out on creating graceful and supple
hands that can create magic within the flick of a wrist or using your fingers
in the way a ballet dancer gracefully uses the legs. Move your hands with power
but not like a tense beast, but a mobile and majestic form of flexibility and
suppleness. If you’re a fighter who needs to slip out of holds, your supple
hands can come in handy. A magician has very supple hands and you’ll know why,
the beauty and the majesty of moving their hands with key target points and
precise accuracy that can only be measured by how they present themselves.
The hands
can be your greatest ally or with the right leverage and training, they can
cripple you within a heartbeat. Back when Catch Wrestling was at its
prominence; there were wrestlers called Hookers who can hook you into a hold
that would most likely break a bone if they had anything to say about it. Just
putting the bone of your wrist on guy’s arm, leg and/or neck in a locked hold
can hurt like a bitch; I've felt it first hand so never underestimate it. The
Hookers were feared by those who challenged them and if they got a hold on you,
you better pray they’re in a good mood and just make you tap otherwise you’re going
to be in a brace pal. If you’re looking to build “soft” hands meaning strong
but gentle, they can be useful if you’re into massage, pleasing your spouse and
they can be useful when you have that touch that just makes everything feel
incredible. The hands can do many wonders.
When it
comes down to tools, there are many things you can use to build mighty mitts
but none are equal to each other because one can build your hands a certain way
or another but never in the same way in terms of building the tendons and
muscles of the lower arm. Sledgehammers build strong hands period. They make
you work otherwise you won’t have a chance with them. Grippers build that
crushing strength but also if you do isometric holds, this alone can be
beneficial if you want to save someone’s life one day. Various Feats Of Strength build your hands in ways that are virtually impossible for dumbbells
and barbells can withstand. The simplest tool for your twisting strength can be
the use of a towel, by this I mean you get a bucket, put the towel in and soak
it up as best as possible and then from one end to the other you twist and
squeeze the water out back into the bucket; this exercise alone can turn your
hands in steel rods and turn your tendons into granite.
Use your
tools wisely because you never know when you’ll need your powerful hands for a
certain occasion. Your hands are the works of what was meant for you. The
stronger and supple you make them, the stronger your body can be. Do it and you
will go far.

By The Beard Of Zeus
Sorry I had Anchorman man on the brain this morning. If
you’re a fan of Will Ferrell or Awesomely Stupid Comedy watch Anchorman &
it’s sequel. Whenever Ferrell (who’s character is Ron Burgundy) is in shock or
whatever he says a random set of words instead of holy shit it’s like “Sweet
Odin’s Raven” or whatever comes up. I find it funny but I still like the god
himself.
Funny
things aside, you can harness the power of Zeus if you apply the thought, your
action and your imagination of super strength and speed by using simple
techniques that can create strength by three fold. It’s teaching you to harness
your strength that you already possess within you that just needs a key to
unlock the door. Believe me I was skeptical at first too and I've been learning
all kinds of stuff for years but I decided to put my skepticism aside and just
test it, see if the guy who was teaching it was bluffing and full of shit, I
was dead wrong and was in for a whirlwind.
I was
shocked when I incorporated the sounds, the imagination and the target points
to what I want to do and my strength shot up like a damn cannon. I've literally
done hundreds of exercises in my lifetime and even with the most difficult ones
felt at ease. It’s called CoreForce Energy; a system proven to combine
different elements to surge your strength in less than a few minutes if not
seconds. Imagine if you’re an athlete being able to run a little faster down
the field, knock the ball out of the park, have laser eye coordination while
shooting a basketball have a faster and more accurate slap shot, have a better
golf swing and do it all without steroids and/or PEDs, would you want that kind
of power and speed?
This isn't
just for athletes but for people from all walks of life from the business man
to the martial arts, to the entertainer and opera performer, to the awe
strength of Circ Du Soleil to the motivational speaker who wants project a
greater voice. When you get your hands on CoreForce Energy you’ll learn in
small chunks how to peak your performance at the maximum level with step by
step simple but effective elements of training, philosophy and the internal
arts.
Zeus is a
fundamental component of the course and you’ll find out why when you hear the
sounds of power and music, to feel the surge course through you with breathing
patterns that give you strength instead of draining it and you’ll find the
deepest secrets of Einstein’s vision of standing on the tip of the light
traveling at the speed of light at 186,000 miles per second and how this one
technique can increase your speed within an instant. Unlock the power that’s
already within you and harness your strength like you've never seen it before.
No matter how big or small you are, there’s something there for everyone and my
friend Garin Bader will show you the deepest secrets of unlocking your power,
your undeniable speed and the strength that is just edging to be unleashed. You
have the power my friend, make it happen and perform at a level that you have
been dying to have.

Gods And Deities That Teach Us About Fitness
For countless centuries, we have worshiped many gods and
supernatural figures that give us power and love over our lives. Not all have
used them that way and have pushed the boundaries what is good and what’s evil
about worshiping a god, king or supernatural force but when it comes down to
it, it’s important to know that we hold some of these forces and beings in our
hearts and can learn from them. In this case in the world of fitness, they’re
just as important to learn from in that caliber if not more as we see them as a
driving force to believe in.
Building
fitness using the very figures that have conquered World Literature and
Mythology is a great way to look at how we can create the human body to a degree
of strength and health that we all strive to find. For all intents and
purposes, there’s no need to do drugs, steroids or any of that crap to build
solid, functional strength that can carry over to everyday life. Here are a few
figures in Mythology that can grasp a hold on our fitness training and how we
can use them to find what works best for us.
Zeus: The All-Mighty Greek God (or Roman’s Jupiter) is a
great way to look at fitness because he is that powerful, nerve forcing god
that gives us the strength that we can grab a hold of and harness that force
inside us to create that superhuman strength and speed that scientists say we
only use 5% of at best. Think of having the hands of Zeus, grabbing something
or taking in energy that surges throughout your whole body and puts you in a
state where it feels like you can take on any obstacle and laugh at your
challenges.
Pan: The Satyr half-man half goat that is the spirit of
sexual energy and the way we harness our power and strength from our legs. When
you build powerful and strong functional legs, you create that balance of
testosterone which in turn gives you great health, burns off fat, powerful
muscle all over and it aids in making you feel younger, stronger and more in
tuned with your inner child of play and man/woman of loving energy.
Hercules: The man of Superhuman Strength. This is more in
tuned with bodybuilding but more importantly, to truly understand the fitness
side of Hercules is to learn to build your body that is not only powerful and
solid but having nearly equal strength to go with it. The old-time strongmen
had built solid and mighty physiques but at the same time, their strength was
even more impressive. Men like Reg
Park , John Grimek, Eugene
Sandow and others that had incredible bodies but even greater strength that was
just unbelievable. Don’t be a Tarzan and fight like Jane kind of Bodybuilder,
harness your strength and power naturally as you build your physique. Basic
lifts and basic programs are key.
To go
beyond what you’re taught, you have to think outside the box. We are taught
certain things from different people but in order to be truly successful you
have to look within yourself to find the best possible way to be fit, healthy
and crazy strong. This goes as much for women as does men. Women do train
differently because their bodies don’t have as much testosterone as men
however, it’s important to know that you can build a beautiful body that WON’T
GET BULKY because unless a woman is using testosterone pills or steroids that’s
really the only way that’ll happen. Work with what you learned but also find
what works best to your abilities. Just following someone isn't quite enough
and the way you follow them isn't always in your best interest. Think for
yourself at times and remember to be yourself.
Putting
your body and mind to the test has been the standard for all things for as long
as mankind has been around. The Gods and their stories gave us a reason to use
our bodies and our brains to think and look for what works and how we create
certain things that gives us hope, strength and endurance to move forward. Some
of us just think there’s an end-all be all of following and not having a right
to think for ourselves. I take bits and pieces of people’s advice and methods
and mold them into my own, it’s called becoming creative. Some people don’t
know how and it’s sad because they have so much potential but only work with
what they’re told to do. Quite frankly I hate being told what to do but I’m not
opposing to listening and modifying what works for me. Become more of you and
challenge the way things go.
We may have
been created by the Gods or whatever you choose to believe but the reality is
that once you are born, you grow up and you learn. No one has your body and
mind so what makes you think you aught to be somebody else. Find what guides
you and learn to harness the power within you, not someone else and become a
more powerful being.

Evolution Through Mythology
My Judo sensei once said to me, “a man’s reach must exceed
his grasp, or else what’s a heaven for?” He was telling me about his old
training schedule, the weights he used to lift, and the body weight exercises
his sensei would demand that he perform. I was awestruck, doing 500 pushups, or
bodyweight squats in one day? At the time I could not conceive that such a
thing could even be possible.
His Judo sensei was a member of the Iroquois nation of
native peoples, and while they would train he would tell them the stories about
mythical warrior Hiawatha. Hiawatha is said to have wrestled the unconquerable Bear of
the West the gatekeeper to the realm of the dead to a draw. Hiawatha is
supposed to been able to paddle a cannon with such ferocity that he could
change the course of rivers, outrun day light so he could continue speaking
with the spirits of the night, and shoot twenty arrows into the sky before the
first one came back to touch the ground.
Was my Judo sensei actually supposed to believe that
Hiawatha preformed such supernatural feats? Well, no, but also yes, within the
appropriate context. His sensei was doing from him what the Iroquois elders did
for the young up, and coming warrior-braves; inspiring them to forever keep
their reach exceeding their grasp. By telling the stories of Hiawatha the young
warrior-braves felt encouraged to test themselves over, and over again. They
sought to become as fast as the wind, and as strong as a bear. Like Hiawatha,
these represent subjective units of measure. How fast is the wind? How strong
is a bear? How powerful is Hiawatha? The answer will always be faster,
stronger, and more powerful than you are currently. So you must always seek to
improve, be better, and achieve greater.
The heroes of mythologies are meant to spark something deep
within us, to light a fire that we could use to courageously explore the depth
of our souls, and inner recesses of our minds. As we immerge from our own dark
psychic forest, we return from what Joseph Campbell termed the “hero’s
journey”, and we now have been remade more in the image what we individually
believe heroic to be. These heroes are symbols and as such are mutable. They
can be changed to fit societal needs, but still represent the values deemed
virtuous by an entire collective, and heritage of peoples.
In my own studies of mythologies, I began perhaps
intuitively, to feel as if the writers of these sagas where speaking not only
across time, but speaking to more than just ancient superstitions. I started to
see a deep, if not hidden wisdom within the stories. Thor’s magic glove which
translates to “Iron Grip”, and his belt which literally means “earth’s power”,
are what enabled him to wield his famous hammer. In order for a man to be
mighty like Thor, he would need to
train his hands into possessing a vice-like grip, and obtain a well develop
lower back, and legs. In reading the works of old-time strongmen I found this
confirmed many times. The key to superhuman strength is found in grip strength
straining, and focusing on heavy lifting exercises such as dead lifting, squats,
and swings.
What transpired next was an immersive study into the
mythologies, and hero legends from around the world. This was the impetus of
Heroic Evolution and its strength training programs.
However I wanted not only to share quality strength training,
but also to promote the qualities of having good character, or at least an
examined character. What is the purpose of being strong in the first place?
That is a question that has a dizzying amount of potential responses, and is
for the trainee to explore for themselves if they wish, and certainly
worthwhile if they do.
The stories of heroes like Hiawatha, or even King Arthur,
set forth a code of conduct, as well as I believe, contain physical training
protocol that where meant to be discovered by young members of different
warrior societies. These stories are laced with clues in not only how to get
strong, tough, and fast, but also what to do with that formidability in their
society, and how to act appropriately.
Embodying one of these mythological heroes is a life
changing process. The hero exists only inside you, and to go within to find
them is actually to find your greater potential. The exploits of the hero can
never be matched; but the hero doesn’t care, as the point is that you attempt.
It is in the fierce attempts at the impossible that we discover just how
amazing we can be. The hero can’t ever judge you, and thereby this places all
the responsibility back on you. How do you feel about your efforts? Do you feel
you are meant for something greater? Do you believe you can, or should, do
better in whatever endeavor you have chosen?
Your answer to these questions can
be sobering indeed.
Mythologies allow us to glimpse into our own lives, the
roles we, and those around us fill. We all live out a certain “personal”
mythology whether we are conscious of it, or not. The simple truth of the
matter is that if we don’t like the story we are living we need to change it.
The strength to change it comes through becoming our own greatest hero, by
moving past our own perceived limitations, and reaching into our infinite
potential to grasp at something we never dreamed we were capable of until we
found the courage to try.

Thoroughbred Legs Are The Driving Force
They say if you have strong legs, you have a stronger body.
When it comes down to it, our legs are the driving force for superhuman
conditioning. In football, you need strong and fast legs to run down the field,
in basketball, you need quick footwork in order to defend or move with the
ball, in Baseball; your hips and legs help hit homeruns and steal bases and
also running down the ball for a diving catch. If you’re in the military, we
need our legs to carry our comrades, our equipment and to run down the enemy in
combat. Law Enforcement needs strong legs to take down suspects in the toughest
of situations. Let’s face it; our legs are our best weapons.
In
mythology, one of the strongest deities is the Satyr Pan. Although he has a
reputation for having a crazy sex-drive and having courting many nymphs, he’s
one of the strongest and most agile creatures in the stories. His entire lower
body is that of a goat which gives him a distinct advantage in running down his
enemies but also defend himself with powerful legs. He is a symbol of virility
and superhuman leg strength. Our legs give off more energy than just about
everywhere else in the human body because it is the center of our hormones.
Our legs
are the center of our hormones. If you do it right, we give off natural growth
hormone which helps us in health, vitality, strength, stamina and an increase
of testosterone. For men this is crucial and it’s important to put in good
amount of time dedicated to leg training. Our bodies shift into overdrive when
you use our legs. One of the key ingredients for mighty legs is to do sprints.
For up to no more than 30 seconds we run down somewhere as fast as we can
muster. Marathon training is good in some
cases but if you want lean muscle mass than you better move fast. Like the
Satyr, Animal Training is very good in increasing your testosterone levels to a
great degree, say like doing frog jumps, duck walks, running like a bear or
sprinting like an Emu, these will create a shift in the body that will develop
powerful muscle but increase your conditioning at the same time.
The
foundation for powerful legs is the Squat. You don’t need to lift weights to
get an awesome leg workout but with the right tools, you can have that option
and is just as powerful. Bodyweight Squats however give off more hormone
induced energy in my opinion because there are many ways to do a squat but if
you do them in high numbers, a Satyr might have some stiff competition. Another
great form of training to get your legs going is doing Isometrics. When you do
Leg Isometrics, you’re working the body from all sorts of angles and
strengthening the tendons and ligaments that keep the body together. Imagine
being on the gridiron and pivoting, running and moving in a diagonal direction
on the field and never getting injured because of your strong tendons.
How many
injuries can you count where an athlete or the average person got injured and
it was due to torn muscles and ripped tendons in the legs? Countless. I
definitely share some ground with this from my injury back in 2005. I had to
rebuild my body from scratch and constantly had to work my legs to where it was
pain-free. To this day I still have some discomfort because of the rod and pins
holding my bones together but can still knock out over 100 squats without
batting an eye and maintain great flexibility in my legs that I could never do
when I was in my teens. Take the time to work on your legs. For women, you want
those sleek and toned but strong legs, squat and get in some leg work because
strong legs create a strong person. If you got legs, make them super strong,
fast, agile and powerful because it becomes crucial when you need them the
most.

Channel Your Energy To Do Your Bidding
Everything
starts with a thought, we think of things 24/7 but only using some of those
thoughts to create action. When it comes to training, many of us think
externally, trying to figure out what to lift, what muscles needed, how much
weight, the hand and foot positions, is your back straight you catch my drift.
We never really see how we can improve from internal points of view.
If you want
to achieve strength at a greater rate, you have to think differently. Knowing
the lift or the exercise is only half the battle, think into the exercise
itself. What would it feel like to have the surge of power to lift more or do
more reps with ease? Your thought process turns into action by how you perceive
it.
Your imagination
is the key. Thinking differently creates a different thought and it becomes a
different action. Don’t always think of a million things at once; focus on
using one thought, one action. Your hands are like magnets, they attract
energy, picture your arms that are like steel cords that are fluid but super
strong, your body is surging with electricity and every time you breathe, Zeus’
thunderbolt strikes more power into your body. You can make anything in your
training happen with the right focus, the creative thought and you imagine
something greater than what you already see.
It’s about
rewiring to create superhuman strength, using techniques that instantly charge
your body. Create certain sounds that congruent with your thoughts and actions.
You can change the very essence of your thoughts and double, triple maybe even
quadruple your strength in a matter of seconds. When you master this, it gives
you that extra edge and programs your body to do whatever you want. It’s the
pinnacle of the mind-muscle connection. A very important detail to think about
is using your actions with intent using what Bruce Lee calls Emotional Content.
If you are going to lift something or do a particular bodyweight exercise, do
it with emotion, do it with feel. When you do this, your strength and power
will come much quicker and have more zap to it.

Superhuman Fitness
Training has a meaning for different people and most of the
time; they never take action to drive for what they really want. They want
results fast but never put in the effort to put in the work it takes to get fit
and strong. Some use aerobics as a workout and if that’s what they like more
power to them but that’s not the kind of fitness I’m talking about. Others have
used Crossfit to get in awesome shape; I’m all for pushing yourself but again
not the kind of fitness I’m talking about. So what kind of fitness am I talking
about?
Taking
fitness to a superhuman level requires not just effort but the will to progress
by mastery. When you go to the gym, how many people do you see going from
exercise to exercise like it’s a supermarket? They pick exercises and throw
them in without looking at the big picture. Like a grocery list, you want to
get what’s on it and not subject yourself to getting more than you have to.
Take that concept and put it into training. Find the exercises you want to
master. The fewer you want to master the better because it teaches you how to
focus on what you’re doing and progress to a higher level of the exercise
whether it’s more sets/reps, a more advanced version, changing the speed and
tempo whatever. Mastery is a key to reaching superhuman potential.
The biggest
key is your imagination. Without it, you’ll just strolling along, not making
any real progress, you might get some results but no where near the results
you’re looking for. When you’re training, think into your exercises, picture
yourself in a certain situation. Lifting Odd Objects like a keg or log for
example; picture as if you’re in a place where it’s crucial for those things to
be lifted. You’re in a big warehouse and those kegs of beer or whatever you see
in them need to be carried onto a truck and sent out, time is of the essence
and if you don’t make your quota you’re going to lose your job. Random I know
but if it’s your job to make a certain quota wouldn't you want to keep it?
You can use
your imagination for anything you wish. Got a Sledgehammer and a tire, picture
yourself in the woods, chopping down some lumber to take home and either built
your home or bring in firewood to help keep you and your family warm so they
don’t freeze to death. Each time you hit that tire, there’s more wood to put on
the fire place, more wood to build something. Like Isometrics, push against the
wall and picture yourself as if you’re in ancient Egypt and you’re moving
blocks of heavy stone to help build the pyramids, or picture yourself in a
secret chamber where gravity really takes you down (for you Dragonball Z fans)
and the only way to stay up and move is by Muscle Control that gives you the
strength to do any exercise you wish.
These are
just examples but whatever you’d like to come up with be sure to focus and
never let go of it. It’s like being able to fly like Peter Pan; sprinkle some
pixie dust and think happy thoughts so in real life it be your feeling and
energy as your pixie dust and your imagination is your happy thoughts, bring
them together and magic happens.
A food for
thought if you want to become superhuman is to be challenge yourself at the
right time and know when to back off but never being satisfied. When will you
know to challenge yourself? It’ll come when you feel the need for a challenge,
push yourself a little harder, do a few extra sets and reps, and test a new
variation whatever it might be but sooner or later it’ll happen. Stepping back
after a challenge doesn't mean you’re giving up, it means you want to get
better and you need to rest up but again it doesn't mean you’re done.
Progress
your way up, take a step back if you need to and challenge yourself often. A
Superhuman doesn't prance around like a pretty boy, he challenges himself, he
rises above those who don’t have the drive but also help those find that drive
and show them how they can rise themselves. Want to be Superhuman; you have the
power to be. It’s within you.

Mythology & Superhuman Strength
No matter how you slice it, we've been fans of Mythology for
as long as we can remember. We've read the comic books, we've watched the
movies, we've practiced certain elements that are based on the gods and we've
even trained to be like them but can we really? There are different heroes and
villains in the world of Mythology basing on how much we've learned about them.
It’s important to have these stories but one must be cautious because we never
know what we might find.
Gods,
monsters, heroes, villains, superhuman powers; these things have stretched our
imaginations for eons and we still are finding more things about them than we
thought to believe. The god Zeus is one of the most prolific figures in
Mythology because of not just his power of the thunder bolt but some look at
him as a man of great stature and superhuman entities to do good on this world,
others see him as a complete asshole for wanting to overthrow his brothers
Poseidon & the dark lord of the underworld Hades and control mankind to do
his bidding. It is important however to know that a god like that is very
powerful and can learn to use his great strength for our own way of training.
Another
great Hero or mythical figure; Thor, he’s one of the strongest gods there is
and he’s famous because of that great Hammer of his. When he strikes down the
Frost Giants or marches into battle, his hammer is the equivalent to a
samurai’s mighty sword. The weapon is apart of who he is, it symbolizes his
power unlike anything else and with that power can either be great for saving
the world or destroy it b the choices we make.
How can we
tie in these mythological figures into building a foundation for fitness today?
Well let’s look back to how real warriors of ancient times trained; they didn't
have machines like pulldowns or cardio machines to keep them fit or have
barbells and dumbbells to strengthen their muscles so what the hell did they
do? Depends on the type of warrior you’re looking at, some were swordsmen, some
were archers, others were snipers when they shot arrowheads and even some had
special weapons made for specific occasions or battles so they’re training
consisted on the type of role they played in. When you look at archers, they
have strong shoulders, a keen eye and a great sense of control of on pulling
isometrics. That makes me think of Strand Pulling or today’s Lifeline Chest Expander, working the same muscles as an archer did just in a different format.
If we truly
want to put in training like god or a warrior of ancient times, we can’t just
march into the gym or get a certain tool of weight or cable and expect to be
super strong. Like anything else we progress to become better and stronger and
fitter. Think of Hercules, the strongest god of all or should we say demi-god.
He was already super strong and had superhuman qualities but at first he didn't
understand how to use that strength, it made him awkward and his control was
horrible. After learning to use his mind and putting in the effort to control
what he was doing, over a period of time his strength helped him in the 12
labors he was assigned by the Greek goddess Hera if you read the stories and
the tragic entities that go with this.
We are
inspired by powerful beings, whether they’re gods, extraordinary men and women
or even a certain person of status whether an athlete or strong being; it gives
us hope that we can be those things to and possibly more if you put your mind
to it. The power of our imagination is endless if you really understand it and
continue to learn it. We all have great gifts within us and most of us don’t
even know it and never learn to unlock them. Learn what you’re good at,
progress and turn it into something you can proud of and you can be super
strong and powerful. Use your imagination and doors will open to you that you
never seen before.

Strength Is Nothing Compared To What’s Within
Too many of us use what’s outside of ourselves to make us
stronger physically, we lift weights, do weird cardio, hell we even do Crossfit
from time to time. The strange thing is at least to most people is that
strength really comes from your mental power and not so much your physical
power. When you break it down mentally, your body will perceive it to follow
and that’s where your true strength comes into play.
Everything
starts with a thought, when a certain thought occurs, sometimes action takes
place. We all think about something every single day but we can’t take action
for ever thought we have otherwise we’d be burned out, exhausted and just flat
out torn up so we use specific thoughts to create action later. What the mind
sees is not always what we believe to be unless you have a strong intuition and
something within you sees something that involuntary focus on that, your body
reacts. This is one of the basic subjects of the Mind/Muscle Connection, what
we see in our minds; our bodies react in certain ways.
One of my
favorite Superhero movies to watch is the origin story of Dr. Strange. A man
with a lot of guilt for the death of his sister became bitter, cold and dark
yet became a great neurosurgeon. Don’t want to give it all away but the point
is, because he needed his hands to help people, he couldn't and he nearly gave
up until he met a Tibetan Monk who made him learn how his mind perceives
certain things and not all things are what they seem when it comes to the
Physical. How you perceive something is not always what they seem for example,
doing a certain feat of strength, most in their mind see this as too much and most
likely won’t be able to do it, however if you shift your mind to believing
it’s not and you feel your body infusing with great power, you can do it
pretty well. Not saying it be light as a feather and you can do whatever you
want but using your mind with a connection to the body, you can do things you
never thought were possible.
To really
unlock the secrets of great strength and superhuman power, you must learn how
to focus your Energy with pinpoint accuracy. It’s not easy by any means but you
can harness great energy to do your bidding whether it’s strength training,
talking to people, being in a sport or activity, hell even if you’re an
entertainer you can still create something that’s already inside you. You can
unlock this energy in different ways, it can be through meditation, seeing
yourself doing something extraordinary or better yet infusing your breathing
with certain sounds and torquing points that will make you so strong at the
snap of your fingers you won’t know what hit you.
Be open to
unlocking your mind to limitless possibilities, progress with great intention
and focus on what you want to happen and you’ll be surprised what you’ll find.
Most won’t do this because they’re too damn scared or rather listen to some
shmuck tell them that they don’t have it in them. You have far more power
within you than you perceive it to be, let it go and unleash it with vigor and
great admiration because nobody can give you that power more than you can.

Putting The Super In Superhuman
Becoming beyond the realms of human abilities in fitness
isn't as far fetched as most people want to believe. Sure you won’t always be
someone who can deadlift 1000 pounds, run 50 miles, do 100 pull-ups or swing a
kettlebell 10,000 times but you can however push the very brink of your natural
abilities to become something more than yourself. Being superhuman doesn't mean
you’re just a physical specimen and do whatever the hell you want; a superhuman
has physical gifts using his emotional content to define his spirit and conquer
him/herself in their own endeavor.
To reach
certain levels, you must push yourself out of your comfort zone naturally and
with reason. Don’t be just jumping into something already advanced and think
you won’t be sore or get hurt, that just makes you a moron. Instead focus on
the progressive elements of what you’re capable of and little by little keep
pushing. Testing your limits are tests of your will power, how far you’re
willing to go. There is a bit of a price but it’s worth everything you've put
your heart into. Some people go so deep it might end up crippling them, others
keep edging and finding what they’re capable of and in doing so learn the value
of your mind and body’s strengths and weaknesses.
To become
superhuman is to follow simple and basic rules or you can come up with ones
suitable for you but the most basic ones are as follows:
- Never be satisfied with your training, keep learning.
- Train hard and smart, use your mind and body as if they’re the same thing.
- Sleep & Recover, very important in building the body and resting the mind
- Push yourself progressively, never take a short cut or you’ll end in a way you won’t like
- Value your true friends in your field for they’re the ones who give you the best advice and keep you motivated either through a conversation or just a few words.
One of my
favorite teachings to become superhuman is to follow your own path. This is one
of the toughest things to do and I’ll tell you why; people want to follow
someone else because they see how they do things and want to follow along but
never go beyond that. I realize some people like to do that P90X or Insanity
type programs and I’ll admit it’s better than nothing and if it works for them
awesome but they’re missing the big picture. You’re watching the DVDs and you
follow along as best as possible and if results come great, however, DVDs tend
to wear out or get scratched, stolen, ripped and whatever could happen how will
you do your workout? You going to pay another couple hundred bucks to get them
new? Think about it. I have my own
opinions about them but let me tell you something, just watching and following
along is really only good for techniques and tempos.

Powerful Functional Legs
It is one of the most solid foundations to have strong,
agile, functional and powerful legs. If you’re in a sport, your legs are your
carryover. You can’t kick a soccer ball, score a touchdown, jump shoot a
basketball or run the bases in baseball without the use of your legs. It is
important to have the best legs possible, not just in sports but in real life,
if you’re in law enforcement you might need to run down a suspect, if you’re a
strongman you might need to use your legs for certain feats like bending or
maybe pulling a large object like a truck possibly. You see way too many guys
in the gym that have flamingo legs meaning large upper body and bird legs.
Never fall for this.
Having a
powerful lower body is essential to the many things life offers but power
doesn't always mean super strong, it’s crucial to also have flexible and supple
joints, tendons and ligaments. I know this all too well because of the recovery
from my accident 8 years ago. I started out with squats but as I learned
flexibility training it became more important. Stretching is a key to lifelong
health so it’s important to find the best ways to keep you from having burned
out legs as you get older. Remember to learn to relax as you stretch, the key
is to release tension because the more relaxed you are, you can be more
explosive and powerful later on.
We all know
the key to superhuman legs is squats but that’s not the only exercise that
builds them. Squats are usually the straight up and down exercise but what
about directional movements or isometric holds for different directions. When
you lift odd objects, your legs aren't always going to go up and down, you need
to move in different patterns to lift certain things like Rocks, kegs, logs and
furniture. You want to keep strong in every direction possible. Think of it
like wrestling; you don’t always shoot in for the kill, you need to shift the
body for certain moves or holds that require flexibility otherwise you’re just
going to be stiff and you’re down for the count.
The single
most important reason the legs need to be super strong is because they also
build crazy lung power which amps up your conditioning. I have repeated it so
many times but certain people need to get this planted into their brain, the
late Karl Gotch has said “Conditioning is your best hold.” This means the more
conditioned you are, the longer you can go and can stay in the game. This goes
for everything. Endurance is essential and yes it’s possible to have big legs
and still have insane stamina (Great Gama anyone). You don’t always need high
volume training to build endurance and certain things won’t build lung power
the way you might think. Powerful muscle and endurance go hand in hand. Keep
your legs strong, supple and crazy powerful because you never know when they
might come in handy when the time calls for them.

A Workout That’ll Take Your Breath Away
Before I
tell you a great workout I have discovered I wanted to give you an important
asset in your training and that’s conditioning. I know you've probably read and
heard me say it pretty damn often but yet it bears repeating. When you’re
really good at something and you can go for a quite a period of time while
having plenty left in the tank you’re in great condition. Karl Gotch couldn't have said it better “Conditioning is your greatest hold.” It takes mental toughness
to be in superior condition, sure you can have great physical attributes but if
your mind isn't in the right place it’s all worth nothing.
This
workout is based on an inspiration from the recent events that Bud Jeffries has
demonstrated with the use of a sledgehammer and how you can perform different
variations and combinations with that hammer to other exercises. Because of
this, I like to practice certain things one at a time and sometimes just one
exercise the entire workout because it hits everything in the entire body. This
workout is fun, interesting, gives you a little time to breathe and best yet,
you never know what reps you’ll come up with next.
To make
this workout possible you’ll need 5 important things…..A good sharp pencil or
pen, paper to write own (trust me this comes in handy), a 20 sided die, either
a sledgehammer or a mighty Thor Hammer (my personal favorite) and a nice solid
tire to hit. Each of this is as equally important as the workout itself. The
reason why is because when you roll the die, you come up with a set of reps
that you can either leave as is or double even triple the amount but because it
be hard to remember them its best to write them down which should be your rest
period. If you really want to add anything I suggest a watch so you can time
yourself and keep track of your progress.
Why did I
choose the 20-sided die? Because I like variety and not knowing what can come
up next, it keeps things fresh and it makes not have the same workout twice.
You can use the reps anyway you want, you can leave them as is like I said
earlier, or make it more interesting by doubling or tripling the amount of
reps. You can go as high as 10 reps or maybe 100 who knows. I use the die at
times when I do my Animal Training and play around with it kind of like a game.
How does
this workout go?
-Well, you roll the die, whatever number comes up you do
that many reps hitting the tire using both hands and switching the top and
bottom hands to make it even. Say you rolled a 20 for example, you can do 10
reps left over right and switch to right over left to make it 20 or do 20 reps
L/R then 20 R/L to make it 40.
-Write own the number of reps to keep track so you don’t
lose how many you’d like to do. In the beginning do about 10 rolls to get the
idea, build it up to however you want and then you can time yourself, 5
minutes, 10 min. whatever and be sure to keep moving, roll the die, write the
reps and get back to it.
-Make a goal to how many reps you want to hit in a certain
amount of time but also keep good form (its important believe me).
This builds
cardio in ways that just blows many things out of the water; it’s a step closer
to how the old-time laborers worked the mines, quarries and construction,
breaking down concrete, stone and rock. To do this workout for an hour is a
hell of a way to build up your conditioning and stamina while also building
crazy strength in the arms, back, legs, your grip, your abs, your lung power
and your coordination.

One Of The Fastest Fat Burning Methods
To burn or not to burn? That is the question. The way
certain people train, they try different things like weight lifting, bodyweight exercise, aerobics, sports specific strength training and/or Yoga. We don’t always
look to finding ways to not only build muscle but burn the fat off as well like
a furnace. If I had to pick one of the fastest methods to burn fat faster than
just about anything else is the use of Isometrics.
When it
comes to Isometrics, when done properly they torch the fat as if it was being
cooked on a grill. There are many ways to use Isometrics and you can do them
just about at any given time. Some look at them as just positions or holding a
plank. Isometrics incorporates the 2 structured links that bring harmony to the
Mind/Muscle Connection because if you try to do one or the other it’s not going
to fit right so using the two is like bringing PB & J together or Fruits
& Veggies, The bat and the Baseball or a football to a quarterback that
kind of connection. Anybody can hold some kind of position but when you hit the
muscles in a specific position whether you do it all out for a few seconds or
easing the tension and hold for more than a minute the way your mind fights,
the body will follow.
I've experimented with many types of isometrics including various postures, holding
in an arm Wrestling position, parts of a body weight exercise like the Hindu
Push-up and tried unusual types of Isometrics from the Nebraskan Wild-man Steve Justa. When you a hold a position, your nervous system shifts into overdrive
and your working more than a specific muscle, your whole body comes into play. I've held positions ranging from 5 seconds to 10 straight minutes and the same
principle applies no matter what you do.
I've been
experimenting holding and pulling in various positions for Arm Wrestling and
what I've noticed is how the muscles begin to tire after a bit but the power is
still there. No matter what you want to work on, I would bet Isometrics will
help you get that little edge you need. Fat Burning using isometrics will strip
fat off your body because when you hold a position, the body builds internal
heat and because of the strength to hold the position all the fibers start
firing and that causes the body to burn fat.
Isometrics
when you apply them with intensity and using specific breathing patterns, they
can make you feel lighter and move better with speed. Ease up on the tension of
a specific hold and hold for 1 min. You will that after that one minute you
work that position with a dynamic movement and your body moves with a bit more
speed and power but you feel lighter at the same time. Steve Justa uses one
particular method doing Jerk Reps which means you’re still contracting but
using very little movements to the point where an inch or so is all you need.
This still gives you that lighter feeling and your body feels good and relaxed
afterwards. Keep your mind open and remember that when you practice Isometrics,
your body will begin to change, kind of like natural reconstruction, your
muscles will be more defined, your tendons will feel like steel rods and your
strength will increase and fat will pour out of your body like crazy.

. My Review Of Justametrics
When it comes to underground of the Physical Culture world,
no one has held that title better than the man himself Steve Justa. For those
that know little of him know about his book Rock, Iron, Steel that brought a
whole new meaning to the term “Backyard Warrior.” This man was one of the top
strongest men in the world with unofficial world records in lifting odd objects
and other unusual styles of lifting. What some don’t know is his hand on how he
uses Isometrics.
A while back,
he lost a large portion of his strength due to Type 2 Diabetes and his recovery
is nothing short of a miracle. For a man once weighing near 400 lbs. lost a
ridiculous amount of weight and had to completely turn his diet and training
around, he began to work almost exclusively on Isometrics and changing his diet
from drinking sodas and bad food to eating seaweed, high potent supplements and
good whole foods. He has literally studied more on Isometrics than just about
anyone in the Physical Culture World.
Isometrics
are a key ingredient to developing super strength because for one, you have
nearly unlimited amount of exercises to use and can do them just about
anywhere. Another look at them is that it builds the nerves in the body that
help generate power in the tendons, ligaments and those little muscles most
people neglect, most work on the major muscles. When you look at the DVDs onhow he uses Isometrics, its quite a sight despite being in a garage with a
“little” rack he built but the principles still applies.
There are
some who believe isometrics is the cream of the crop for fitness and there are
others that just seem to believe that its just as much bullshit as building
superhuman strength through isolated movements. Justa’s intake on them is very
unique and more philosophical than you would just train them. Just working so
many muscles and tendons all in a period of time can be used anyway you want,
work for holds, time what he calls jerk reps and how to apply them to anything
you want to achieve. I like his style and he gives a pretty weird insight but
hey it’s normal for him and I admire the man for that.
Now granted
he’s not your typical fitness dude and he even makes old school guys look weary
but in the end he’s a man who lives in his own universe. The man dresses up as
if he were Mel Gibson in Mad Max, you know, post-apocalyptic warrior type
thing, end of the world fighting to survive type of guy. For him it’s another
day at the office but for others he’s as weird and a little messed in the head
but he doesn't give a damn. He’s not rich and live in a nice house; he lives
practically out in the middle of no where in Harvard , Nebraska
and doesn't many luxuries but yet, he’s got what he needs and mostly made
himself. You see most guys in the old days trained in backyards, back woods and
lifted or practiced different feats of strength but this is where Steve just
takes it to a whole new level which at times I can’t even fathom but I love his
idea of mastering your own style and making it your own.
The reason
why anyone in this wacky world of ours called Physical Culture should learn
from Steve Justa is because he’s develop a way of training that can turn you
into an athlete or just want to get crazy strong. Learning from him can give
you a different perspective on how one should be training, yeah we all can lift
a weight, lift a few barrels and do some basic bodyweight training but no one
is at a level he’s been at and most likely never will be at. On these 2 DVDs
alone, he shows practically over 1000 different Isometrics and a plethora of
ways to do them that no one has seen.
One of my
favorite scenes on the videos is how he shows a unique way to train for Arm
Wrestling. I modified my own method from his philosophy and my arms and whole
body felt like they were on fire, worked different directions, held for certain
periods of time and once did a total of 200 jerk reps and I felt incredible. He
even talks about how he went from being one of the strongest men on the planet
to literally falling over from the Diabetes to coming back far stronger and
healthier than ever. It’s one of the most remarkable stories I ever heard.
Watching
the DVDs at first you might think “who the hell is this guy.” I know how you
feel, I felt the same way but I kept an open mind and just paid attention to
how he trains and what I can do to learn. I respect him for what he wants to do
and I do love his style of training; no bullshit, just go out and do it, pace
yourself and master your own way of training. Sure he’s a bit rough around the
edges but that’s ok, I admire guys that are unique and would be a hell of a
trip to train with him.
If you’re
serious about building strength in ways most people can’t, then get your ass in
gear and get these DVDs, the investment is worth 100 times more than you’ll
ever imagine. Imagine having strength from multiple angles, infusing rich blood
into the muscles to stimulate growth and power, having tendons that are as
strong as an ox and working many exercises as often as you want, however you
want and in any amount of time you want. Also, Isometrics have been known to help burn
fat faster than almost every other method and you’ll learn how to lose weight.
Get strong and toughen up your body like never before.
