A Workout Is Just A Workout
The way most people look at exercise is that they just want it over with. Driving to the gym, slap on some clothes and do their little cardio sessions and baby weights plus a little Zumba or Jazzercise to "spice" it up. Sometimes people exercise just to get away from home and do their thing, nothing wrong with that but then there are those that take it so seriously they'll die before they don't have a great training session. For me in 9+ years of doing at least 1 workout every single day, I look at it as an opportunity to challenge my body, my mind and the way certain exercises feel with a sense of purpose and imagination. For the most part I'm a complete nerd when it comes to exercise and I've accepted that. People in the most sense don't really use their minds from an opened stand point, they're very analytical and don't realize that the right amount of things to use for your goals is not that much yet isolate the shit of out their bodies.
Like a few people in fitness, I put passion into my exercise, I may not always show it but in my mind I'm firing up and I'll keep going until I feel I'm done. Those who train with fire and passion go beyond just a workout, it's a battle to who can keep up and the biggest competition is not that twerp bodybuilder with bunny weights, it's you against yourself. I've seen a lot of people in the gym and even a few train outside that train with a little finesse and have good technique but their energy just isn't there. It's like they do something just for the sake of doing it. It doesn't matter what you train as or what goals you're trying to achieve whether it's losing weight, building muscle, hold a handstand, pull the strongest cables or lift a weight you want to surpass; if you're passionate about it than use it to get the results you want.
One secret I don't share with many people and now I'm giving it to you is that a real workout and I'm not talking about pushing your limits or getting psyched and all that stuff; what I'am talking about is that a great workout that is real and demanding for you is like telling a story. How do you introduce the story in your workouts, where's the conflict, do you have certain characters (exercises) that have something to say and how would you end it? Every story has a beginning, a middle and an end but it can't be just some mediocre story, it's how you play it out in your mind and putting it into action (training). You're creating a place in time where the way you feel and the way the story moves you. It's like a beautiful dance, you need rhythm, poise, and balance and most importantly you need to breathe life into it. How's that for a workout? It's not even a workout anymore, it's like a play and each chapter is one step closer to being stronger, more powerful and like an awesome ending it's going to change your mental state in a very cunning way.
A great workout is flooded with intensity, not that getting mad and screaming crap but the focus and the drive to move faster, more efficient and strength that you didn't think you had in you. Many people can't understand this because there's no energy and no drive to do better. Sometimes the pace is slower or faster for some people but those that want to test themselves and see how far they're willing to go to get that intense focus to achieve the goals they strive for. One man I can name at the top of my head that is intense as you can get is Matti Marzel of Ferocious Strength; he's so adamant to be the very best at what he does that his intensity is felt throughout his writing and his videos as he breaks wrenches, does extremely advanced exercises on his fingertips and even holds himself up in ways some elite gymnasts can't fathom. He is that focused and he's just as intense from talking as he is training but the main point here is that he's one of extreme few individuals in this world that throws himself into this powerful state of mind and pushes himself to the point most are too damn afraid to go. A workout is never just a workout.
Happy Wednesday everyone. Keep it up and train hard during this mid week and be awesome. Looking for advice and coaching to help achieve your goals than grab $50 worth of products and as a bonus, I'll throw in a one-one free coaching session on skype. They Will Never Understand
What makes you unique? Can you do things that makes others give you weird looks or vibes? When it comes to people especially in certain industries, they fear what they don't know or understand. Its human nature to feel that when you see someone do something extraordinary or even superhuman. I've gotten this many times even by my own blood and hear things like "don't hurt yourself", "Can you do that in the other room", "It's a shame nobody pays you for that" and a favorite "Don't do that in the middle of the floor when there's people around" (I was bridging and there were 3 people in the room and weren't doing anything). I like to feel I'm unique in my own way and can do things most people my age and size can't do especially in this era. Why don't I fear the things I do? Because I not only love it I challenge the norm and see what else I'm capable of and going that extra mile.
Do you get put down for what you love? How can anyone with a brain even remotely tell you, you should do something else because they can't understand? It's messed up. You're not hurting anybody and what do they really fear it's certainly not you it's them and they hate what you're capable of. When you get to pull off something that not only makes you feel incredible in a positive and productive way and you get joy out of it, people want to try to take that away from you because they're not happy with themselves and they're too damn scared to do something that could give something to smile about and be grateful to do things others can't fathom. Not everyone is like this because on the other side of the coin, there are people who want to encourage you and help you succeed. The type of people that have similar interests and share a common goal of making themselves great by helping one another and cheer you on as you cheer for them. When people put you down for what you love it's not because they don't care it's because they can't do it and they don't want you to succeed and that helps them feel better (even though it really doesn't).
For those that can't fathom what you're capable of or what you're willing to strive for, it is almost hurtful to be looked at as if you're some kind of freak of nature and you're too different for them. That's the beauty of being unique, you get to be different and lead your own path to what makes you happy and give you a reason to show your talent in ways the average person just doesn't have a clue. They don't have what you have and they're jealous as hell even though they won't show it or admit it, it is there. I love being able to fall back into a bridge and kick over when I'm able to, it's a beautiful feeling. Can't say the same for some people I know because they look at me and think "he's going to break his neck and he's too big for that." You know what that tells me, it says yeah say what you want and be a negative Nancy but I'm going to do what makes me happy and if you can't take than walk away from me. I'm tired of hiding of what I'm good at and you should never hide who you are.
The people that don't see the positive things that you're good at will not support you (trust me, It's been said to me in my face) but yet you can find those that will and will push you to challenge your passion because they not only see the awesome things you're capable of but want you to share them with the world and can even make a living out of it. It doesn't matter if you're a writer, a hand balancer, a manager of a small store or even one of the world's strongest men; if you love what you do and you're great at it than keep doing it and never let go of that fire that burns within you. I believe in you and if you use what you can do in a positive and awesome way than by all means keep at it and don't think you're not strong enough to be better. Coming from a guy that was told that loved basketball at one time in his life that I would never be in the NBA no matter how hard I tried it hurts to listen to that shit. You are the most awesome person you can be and your limits are your own and if you want to reach for the stars than dammit do it. Make yourself stand out and have fun with it, if you love it and you learn to be the best at it that you are capable of making it than don't let anyone stop you. Keep at it and don't let assholes take you down when you can rise above them.
It's Tuesday so make it a great one and be awesome everyone. Be sure to check out my Special Offer at the top of the site. It'll only hold until Oct. 1st. Jump on it now and find out how to get a coaching session with me on Skype.

A Satyr For Thought
As you may have read in your Greek Mythology or Roman Mythology books (or watched Chronicles Of Narnia), you may have noticed a god that is both human and animal and not as ugly as the Minotaur. It's a half-man and half-goat creature known as a Satyr or Faunus to the Romans. This creature can be seen as beautiful or terrible looking but in the end he's a god that is different, unique and misunderstood. To Christians (most of them at least) he's looked at as the devil that is the sin of desire, pleasure, drink and sexuality but sinned because of being born not from nature. For the most part, you can't really condemn the poor guy, hell he's half-goat for crying out but he's also a god of the wilderness, the burning desire to love and sing with heart and beauty. His legs and horns are the mere foundation of his powerful strength and unadulterated superhuman hormones. This outlook is what draws those (except for Nymphs) to learn how to get that kind of strength, how would you develop that kind of leg power and hip drive?
Every single human being on this planet has the desire to do something whether it's good, evil or ugly its nature and we are the most complicated species on this earth. We desire something that we hold dear, some go after a job they worked hard to get into and have a passion for it, some join a convent to desire the will of god and help among the word of the bible, others just desire certain they either have or can't have but yet it burns within them and many things can come out when it comes to passion. What the Satyr teaches us in desires is to live with life and desire what you please and although it can get out of hand that's where you channel your passion and what you want to be successful in anything you wish to accomplish. In our bodies, the strongest and most enduring are legs from the hip all the way down to the feet; we dance, we jump, we run, we walk, we kick, we squat and do all sorts of things. Our lower bodies give off the most powerful hormones because that's where our sex organs are and we need those to reproduce offspring but they can do other things too like give off great energy if you apply them the right way (not talking just sex here). Training the legs feed energy and power into those muscles, tendons, bones, joints and even the organs because if you move with certain intentions you're unlocking the true secrets of our natural growth hormones.
There are two sides to practically everything in life and there's no questioning that. You can say there's only one or maybe 4 and 5 but usually ends up being one side or the other of the coin. Within all of us there is both good and evil. I really hate to break it to you but not every single person who has killed or broken someone's heart hell even tortured somebody is evil and not every goodie too shoes has a rainbow personality to them, it's a matter of balance of that individual and what drives to be either one or the other or both. I for one have a good personality, I can get along with just about anyone, I'm a loving person and very caring but if you do something to me or anybody I love and care about I will find a way to destroy you one way or another and I won't think twice about it. We are all capable of killing someone although most likely it will never come to that but if an opportunity arises you have no idea what they're capable of especially when it comes to parents or other types of people. On the other side if you are a person who is loving, helpful, caring and is happy you will feed off that energy around people whether you or they realize it or not. In the beginning I mentioned the Satyr has been known in many religious formats as a horned and ugly figure because of not just his looks but his personality and the desire for lust, drink and sex but if you truly looked up close he's a creature with love, song, dance and is one hormonal son of a bitch but he feeds off powerful energy that is complex.
As a god the Satyr or as we call him in Greek Mythology Pan, loves what he does; he sings, he dances, he chases girls and is an underrated creature that desires life to the fullest without people giving a damn what they think of him. Although he was born a unique creature, he lived with a purpose and is even a savior in some stories as he played a mighty role in helping the Olympians defeating the Titans. I'll let you figure that out on your own. So you see, he is also a hero but yet still feeds of the energy of his powers of the wilderness. Physically we can have a powerful fit body by training our legs in different ways yet mentally if you apply it right for you, certain exercises for the legs can be the most brutal forms of training but still drive you to build powerful muscle, natural hormone levels and expand your strength both physically and mentally. Truly love what you were meant to do, give off great energy with what you do, share with those that you feel deserve to hear and never forget to understand the true power of your nature.
Happy Thor's Day everyone, be awesome and get those legs moving.

30 Going On 18
Seven Weeks from today, I will hit the big 3-0. Holy crap I’m
no longer in my 20’s and I aught to slow down and take it easy a bit. Let my 30’s
be a decade of losing a few hairs, maybe put on a little weight and let my testosterone
drop a few points; not happening Brother. Turning 30 for many seems like a
factor of aging and just plain sucks, not me my friend. I’m looking at it as
being 18 with 12 years of experience. I’m pretty damn psyched turning 30, I’ve
reached a milestone where I’m a little wiser and not feeling like I’m dreading
a long road of vast experiences. I’ve experienced many things in my life, some
good, some bad, a few uglies and plenty of weird and have survived an
Earthquake, breaking my head open, meningitis, came back from a horrible leg
injury and even went through a long-term relationship. I think I’m doing an
awesome job.
When you
reach a certain age, health factors came into play. Certain things pop up like
checking out how you fair out compared to your family history of medical issues
and health issues like Heart Disease, Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Cancer and all
that stuff. My family does have a history with some of these issues maybe not
so much diabetes but Blood Pressure definitely. Cancer has hit my family on a
couple people but you know what, I’m not too concerned about these health
issues. I may change the way I eat a bit but for the most part, I feel incredible,
I’am stronger and healthier than at any other time in my life. I can still move
pretty damn good for a guy my size. Does this make me arrogant and a bit
selfish, I don’t believe so because I love what I do, I give my life to helping
others in fitness and using the skills I’ve developed to stay in awesome shape.
Do I need to check up on things one day, of course but until then, you’ll find
me swimming, pulling heavy cables, sprinting, practicing internal power and
utilizing the most powerful programs with a heavy smile on my face.
Age is just
a number right? It may just be but there are other things to look at, it’s not
just a number, its how you feel, how you live with yourself mentally and what
gives you a purpose to have fun, love and be an awesome person inside and out.
You hear from many people that age is just a number but how many actually live
it and factor in the things I just listed; not many. Hell I’m only turning 30
for Christ sake, it’s not the end of the world and I still have fun and get to
do what I do, I still have goals and aspirations to get better and my mind is
sharper than it ever has been. Turning 30 is big for me in a lot of ways but on
the other side of the coin, it’s just another double digit that’s all.
For some
turning a certain age like 30/40/50 so on, they get this unnecessary sadness, grief,
feeling like it’s the end of the road and seeing themselves as unworthy because
they don’t have the “time and energy” like they use to, bullshit. Your body is
an amazing thing and when you factor in how you use your mind, it is a part of
the living, beautiful experience of not only gaining wisdom and knowledge but
to still have an awesome body if you apply yourself. Let’s face it, I’ve
accepted the fact that I won’t develop a six pack, I’ll be shocked if that hit
one day but I can still go and am far more agile and stronger than most guys 10
years younger than me especially in this day and age when obesity has hit the
jackpot plus I look younger than my age and I’m damn proud of that.
In order to
feel like a million bucks, you’ve got to feel it (no shit Sherlock), breathe
it, live it and know in your heart despite all the crap you’ve been through,
the positives outweigh the negatives when you make it so otherwise you’ll just
be dreading like the rest of the world and doing your best to feel like you’re
not good enough, worrying too much about nothing and then worrying about
something else. When you turn a certain age, don’t dwell on it, be the best
damn age that you are or think younger, not older or saying you’re this X years
old or think Y is old age. I’m going to be 30 years young and haven’t peaked
yet.
Be Awesome guys.

Why I love Training
I’ve given you the reason on what I love about training,
where I was before I began and how I got there but not really given the why,
maybe I have but here’s my way of really telling you. Some people won’t like
this, some may even call me out on it and others just might be inspired and do
things differently who knows. Training goes beyond exercise, putting things
together and developing a body that doesn’t have a six pack but is strong,
fast, agile, and flexible and can take a hit. I love what I do because it keeps
me from going back to my old eating habits, the way I did things in high school
and the crap that I went through mentally.
When I was
a chubby teen in junior high and High School I often ate McDonalds for
breakfast most of the week if I wasn’t going to my second mom’s house. I had no
training or anything of that sorts back then until I was a sophomore in High
School. I use to play basketball and then march into the weight room right
after class, did that for a year and tried all kinds of different weights but
my eating habits were just awful; McDonalds for Breakfast, Dominos Pizza slice
for lunch and whatever I can get my hands when food was available. It wasn’t
always like this but it happened often.
I don’t eat
anywhere near the same amount of crap I did back then, I may not have the best
eating habits but it’s far better than before, yes I still drink soda from time
to time but only every other day or few days or so compared to having a liter
more often and I now cook some of my own meals like lamb, steaks, burgers and
do better with fruits and veggies. I just didn’t want to go back to that plus I
never smoked a day in my life which is weird because I had family smoke around
me. I rarely ever drank alcohol and can go the rest of my life without having
another drink because it just doesn’t appeal to me, not that I come from an
alcoholic background I don’t but I just can’t stand it.
This is why
I love training because it keeps me away from all that stuff and it gives me freedom
to do what I love, share ideas with the world, help people who need a spark in
their life. It makes me happy in a way where nothing can hurt me and it makes
me utilize my talents for writing and using my imagination and intuition to
give others a chance to find their passion and their ability to overcome the
bullshit we go through in life. I love what I do and how much I’ve grown as a
person because there were times in my life where it wasn’t easy for people to
be around me, I was bitter at times and had a bit of a temper to the point
where I even punched my own window and scarred my hand. I love what I do
because it teaches me how to live with happiness, intensity, love and being
passionate about the things I write and the people I care about the most, I
wouldn’t call it therapy I’ve been down that road, I’d call it a form of
passion and helping me strive to be better than yesterday or who I use to be.
I always
find ways to write and learn from others on how I can go through my progress
with not just training my body but my mind and my soul because that’s what
drives me to be the best to my abilities and I’m only scratching the surface. I
believe I was always a kid who had his ups and downs, hardships, trial and
errors and learned some harsh lessons like everyone else plus going through the
Special Education system wasn’t always fun either so I count my blessings and I
keep driving to do what I love no matter who tells me to stop or just do
something “more valuable for your time” than what I do. Do what you love and
hold onto it because there are people out there who never strive to do what
they love and will drag you down because they can’t take it.
Be awesome guys.

Finding Your Passion In Fitness
We are all passionate about something whether we realize it
or not. Some never get a chance to use that passion to share with the world,
others make that passion into a way of helping others in a productive way and
then there are those who have a passion that makes no sense to anyone else.
Fitness is no exception to be passionate about like an athlete who is
passionate about his sport or a Journalist being passionate about reporting
somewhere in their city, state or somewhere in the country/world. The question
is, why do it, what makes your passion so great that you went into it in the
first place? What makes you get the results you want and does it help in your
life in some shape or form?
For me, fitness
is my undying passion, its my second language, its in my blood and it puts me
in a state of mind that finds creativity, love, compassion and intensity for
whatever thing comes also in my life. I eat, sleep, breathe and think training
24/7 (maybe not as big as Jack Lalanne or other Physical Culturists) yet I put
my own take on it and live it on my own terms no one else’s. When I was a
chubby teen, I just fiddled around, picking up a weight or 2 in P.E. In High
school, weights were big with me and did my damndest to be the strongest I can
be without drugs or any of that crap and managed ok, not great. In my 20’s
after my accident, it just became an obsession and absorbed everything I can on
it and for some they thought I was going through a phase, others thought I was
nuts and then there were those who think it’s “just a hobby.” It’s beyond a
hobby, it’s my life and I’m in it until the day I die.
When you’re
passionate about something and others think nothing of it, they don’t
understand and they’ll never get it because they don’t see what you see, feel
what you feel and get the fact that you are doing something that has meaning in
your life when they do their thing day after day and feel miserable and never
follow their true path. For me, fitness goes beyond the workouts, way past the
basic lifts or bodyweight exercises and exceeds way more than what I expect it
to be because I love the variety, the creativity, the way to see the world
through history, film, philosophy. That’s the true look at fitness as a passion
for me, it may be different for you because of your background and that’s great
because we all have different ways to look at things, it’s not bad, good or
whatever it’s your interpretation on what you see.
To really
know what you’re passionate about, it’s the consistency of what you see, feel
and learn about whom you are in terms of your interests and how it makes you
keep going and learning. Keeping consistent in what you do and love shows your
passion on a very different scale. In fitness, we all do some form of exercise
and if there’s something we like, we keep it around until another form of
interest rolls around. Some like being on the elliptical, awesome you’re doing
something but yet what are you truly getting out of it, are you finding the
results you want, does it make you happy to be doing it? You see there’s a fine
difference in what you do and what comes out of it. When you’re passionate
about a workout, it’s not a work out, it’s an adventure and you put your body
in a state where you love it even though it can be tough; on the other side of
the coin, to you it’s just an exercise and nothing else, you dread and feel
like crap, you’re sweating good but it’s just a pain in the ass and when you’re
done you go about your day and then you put yourself through it again and again
until it doesn’t become an interest it becomes a habit.
It’s easy
to be passionate about something but it’s hard to be consistent with it and
that’s where the real fun is, it’s learning how to use it and keeping it on
your toes plus when you share it with the world, share it not with people who
don’t give a damn but to people that share similar passions yet still
different. Love what you do and keep it with you no matter how hard people are
on you about because there will always be that one person or more that’ll have
your back and encourage you to keep loving and following your passion with
heart, intensity and a love that goes with it.
Be awesome everybody.

Everybody Else Is Taken
Whether in fitness or in life, we have certain people we
look up to. In bodybuilding, many guys wanted to be like Arnold , in Baseball if you were a kid in the
90’s, Barry Bonds was an idol to many boys and upcoming Baseball stars. My
favorite sport as a kid was Basketball and watching the greats like Michael
Jordan, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon, Scottie Pippen, Allen Iverson and John
Stockton. I idolized many athletes in that time and had dreams of wanting to be
like them. It wasn't meant to be.
We like to
compare ourselves to the idols we have whether athlete, physical culturists,
celebrities and/or people in the corporate world. At times we mimic how they do
things and the way they handle themselves. I fell for that kind of thing too
and it got me injured sometimes and even broke my spirit because since I
couldn’t do what they do why should I be any different. That’s just it, you are
different; you have different shape, different body and a very different
personality. There are people we admire but certainly should never be like them
because they have their own ways of doing things; they have their own problems
and their own way of making themselves happy. You on the other hand should
focus on what makes you happy, finding what separates you from the rest of us
and learning who you are.
We have
family that expects a lot of us sometimes, there have been times where people
alienate themselves from others because either it’s not worth being around them
or the people don’t want you around. It’s tough when something is expected of
you, you are told to do this, do that, be polite to others, speak when spoken
to, go to college, be a lawyer or doctor, play football because your dad did,
be bold and upright in a beauty pageant, smile at the camera, rule a kingdom,
there are so many things people expect from us and none are more tougher than
your own family breathing down your neck.
The only
thing you ought to expect from is learning who you are but also understanding
the unexpected outcomes that go with that. You are one person, one body, one
soul. You cannot always be as strong or smart or sophisticated as the next guy
so why should you try to compete or compare to others when the only person you
should compete with is yourself. Learn what makes you happy, compassionate,
what you love to do and where you want to go. You may not always see what lies
ahead but you better damn sure know that there will be something unexpected
that comes along and it happened for a reason
Nobody can
do what you do. We all think differently and way may have similar backgrounds
and interests but how we shape what we do is very differently. Some of it is
complex, other times it just comes natural. You are you and you can be great if
you apply yourself to what you’re passionate about. Don’t let anyone tell you,
you can’t do something because someone is better than you or you ought to be
“like everybody else.” I’m very proud of what I do and I love what I’ve learned
along the way. Like I always say, be awesome and don’t let anyone tell you
different.

Follow Your Fitness Destiny
I believe that no matter who you are, you aught to follow
your own destiny. It’s important to learn who your true self is and that nobody
aught to tell you who you should be and that you need to live by a higher
standard according to society’s standards. Fitness is really the same thing.
The truth is, if you are passionate about something and it helps you in your
life than that’s where you aught to go. There are many methods you can learn
and my hope for you is take bits of pieces of what you learned and apply them
to what makes you happy. For real fitness and getting real results find and use
what brings you those results.
In almost
20 years in fitness and health, I’ve learned a great deal of things, some work,
some don’t. In that time I’ve also seen a great many people who tarnish certain
things because it doesn’t suit their standards, they want to drive you away
from your destiny and teach you only their methods and if you’re not on par
than you’re going to fitness hell. Open your mind to different things,
challenge your body and brain to what yields them a great learning experience. I
have fallen to the “one true method” mindset and it nearly killed my expansion
to be able to understand different ideals. Some people do only one method and
for them it’s the end all be all and that’s fine but last time I checked there
are 7 billion people in the world, not all of them are going to follow you.
I want you
to find what you love to do. If you don’t like something and it doesn’t help
you much, that’s a clear sign that you aught to look into something else. I’ve
seen countless people bicker at each other what they don’t like and tell people
that because they don’t like it, it’s not going to work others as well,
bullshit. If you’re a fan of kettlebells and they do well for you, then you go
get whatever kettlebell course is out there and you bust your ass on them
because it’s what you love, if you don’t like kettlebells, don’t buy them and
don’t give others crap about it because it’s not for you.
There are a
lot of things I love in fitness like cables, hammers, bodyweight, ropes,
isometrics and other things so I take bits and pieces of these things and mold
them in my own unique way. That’s the true beauty of fitness is the ability to
be unique and creating the best way for you to get what you want for your body
and mind. Don’t let assholes who tell you that because of what you do, you’ll
get injured, you’re depriving to train like a man or better yet because of what
you preach and love, they’ll come up with any lame way of what is terrible
about it.
I’m not an
angry guy, as a matter of fact I’m very happy about what I do and I get to
learn from very amazing people; however I do get a bit irritated when I find
out about people who over criticize about another person’s methods and tell
them their an idiot or that you’re not an animal you’re a man, train like it;
just makes me want to slap those people. Be unique, if you like doing just one
method that’s great for you but I believe in learning multiple methods and
taking different parts that you find suitable to your needs and goals.
Build your
own destiny, find your calling and passion and run with it. It doesn’t matter
if you’re a woman or a man, we all have something unique about ourselves and
it’s important to find what our true self is and grasp it by grabbing it by the
horns and create something out of it in an awesome, positive and beautiful way.
Help others find their creative side and give them the power to fulfill their
own destiny, you don’t have to like what they do but if they’re important to
you make them feel important and guide them.
Take care and have an awesome day wherever you are.

The Parasites You Should Avoid
There are a lot of negative people out there; people that
hate, loath, disgusted and can't stand who you are and what you represent as a
person. I'm a very positive person who believes in what people are passionate
about in a loving, caring and enduring matter. Sure I have certain views on
things but that doesn't mean I don't want you to succeed. A lot of people out
there hate on what is not up to their standards and make people feel like shit
about it. I’m going to help you find these crazy nut jobs.
In the
training world just like in life, there will be those who want to turn you away
from what you want to do because to either “protect you”, don’t want you doing
good and being successful at it because they're afraid what they don’t
understand so they go to extreme measures to keep you from utilizing your
potential. Some like the “one way and that’s it” bullshit, others who don't
believe in anything else will be on your ass because it’s not what they believe
and then there are those who feel that if you're hardcore and too passionate
it’ll turn you into an obsessed freak. Man I've heard plenty of crap about what
I do and been told I should do this or that and what I do is merely a hobby.
Don’t be afraid of who you are.
You are of
flesh and blood just like the rest of us, you may have different views,
opinions and what works and what doesn't but in the end we spill the same blood
and are human. I don't care what your bench is, how many squats you can do, how
high you can jump, what sexual orientation you are, what your religion is or
color your skin is; you're a human being with a beating heart just like mine. A
lot of people forget that being human is a gift and to be awesome takes
practice; some do it to show off, others try to be awesome to be apart of
something but in my opinion, to be awesome is to be you and treat your fellow
man with love and respect.
There are
different people to avoid and the key types are ones that prevent you from
learning who you want to be and one’s that try to steer you away from your
passion and belief in yourself. There are plenty of other types but these two
in particular are most common. I love mixing things up in my training because
it makes me happy and it helps learn what my body is capable of. I've been told
many times that I should be a weightlifter because of my size or being told
that because of my size there’s no way for me to be flexible and mobile but you
know what, I love what I do and there’s nobody to tell me otherwise. Most haters
hate themselves because they're not doing what you do and they just flat out
can’t stand it. When they hate on you, it’s not you they really hate on; it’s
themselves because they're looking into a mirror and can’t stand what they see.
Learn to
balance positive and negative people in your life. When people whine and
complain about what you do and who you are, look at it this way; it’s better to
be hated than ignored, when people talk about you, you're making them think and
that’s one hell of a gift. Being hated isn't the greatest thing in the world
but on the other side of the coin, you also have people that are inspired by
you, love what you do and want to learn more about it.
When it
comes to certain things, I’m in the middle and don’t really hate anyone, sure
certain people get on my nerves and want to smack them sometimes but in the
end, I want to be positive about who’s in my life and yes I have cut off
relationships and friends but not because I hate them or wish them harm, it’s
because of how they treated me and I don't deserve those types of people. Don't
hate on for who someone is, be awesome to them, encourage what they're
passionate about and help them in any way you can because there’s more to love
in this world than the crap others put themselves through and the way they
treat certain people. Be awesome and call in a mental exterminator every now
and then because you don't want parasites clogging up your happiness and what
you love.

Training Comes With A Price
What you believe in is your choice. Some people prefer
weights over bodyweight, some loath weights and find them useless for any given
strength; the truth of the matter is to find what’s suited to you and really
only you. When you become comfortable in the way you train, take it a step
further and challenge it a little, mix things up, make the exercises harder,
experiment with different tempos, speeds and play.
Not
everyone will agree with what you do and that’s ok. You are unique and your
body responds differently, so train according to how your body responds to the
training you create and experiment with. Me personally, I like different styles
that I mold into my own. I do a little gymnastics, a little weights, animal movements, natural movements, bending steel and whatever I can come up with. If
you’re into one particular style and that’s it more power to you. I'm a big man
and I've been told I shouldn't be able to do the things I do but you know what,
I love it and that’s what is important.
Be open and
share who you are but also use it as a positive influence. There are great
trainers and fitness guys out there who are awesome at what they do but their
attitude needs a little shaping. I’m not asking you to change who you are, you're
awesome in your own right but a positive attitude is a key to success. I
believe in helping others and giving them tools with a smile and bringing love
and care to help them be successful but there are some out there who are bitter
and treat certain people calling them whiners and whatnot, this isn't the
military, these are human beings trying to find what can work for them.
Have a kick
ass attitude, sometimes a little tough love to help reach their potential but
to a degree. If you're overweight and want to drop a few pounds, I'm not going
to tell you upfront you're fat or put you down like some people I know but I
will tell you this; the battle is on you and how you win it is up to you, if
you want to lose weight, take it one step at a time, I’m not going to hold you
your hand but to be motivated is to believe even for a fraction that you can
make something happen. If you're rail thin and need to put on some muscle, same
principle applies, believe even if it’s down to the smallest fraction that it
could be possible, it’s a start and progress upward one fraction at a time.
I know what
it’s like to not be motivated, to give up, being depressed because of my weight
or because I'm not as strong or fit as the guy next to me in the gym, I've been
there and I've had a wake up call that is a little extreme than most people.
You are a very strong person even if you don’t know it yet, the power is there
and it’s edging to come out. You're not a loser and you don't need to listen to
some bullshit people who drag you down, you are mighty and you are powerful, it
takes practice but you can bring it out. That to me is the price of training,
to find your true self and how you apply it to everything else in your life.

Create Your Own Valentines
Like the Beattles say “All you need is love.” It can have
other meanings and not just a day for people who have a spouse. Love can mean
what you do that brings you joy and happiness, it can also mean a favorite
thing to do among anything else and it can also mean how you share it with
other people in a variety of ways. If you’re a strongman and you have love for
strength, go lift something heavy today, bend some steel, rip a few decks of cards, have fun with what you want to do. If you’re a movie fan, go to a
favorite movie or watch your favorites at home and enjoy yourself. Like I said,
love has other meanings.
My personal
view of Valentines Day is not one always shares because today is suppose to be
a celebration of love, hearts, candies, flowers and other things with couples.
My way of looking at it is, it isn't really necessary; you don’t need one
little day to share love for your spouse or whatever because love comes and
goes everyday but it’s how you keep a special love for something or someone in
a state of mind. I like to treat it any other day but just a tad different. I
like to treat it as a day where I give thanks for the love I have for others,
even when certain circumstances come into play and I do things I love to do
like train and share my love for fitness to each and every one of you because
it is my passion and my heart runs deep with it.
If you have
a spouse and you spend this day together; make it count and be happy and share
things together. Are you by yourself? No problem, go out and do something that
makes you happy, perk up just a little bit and smile for no apparent reason.
Forget the roses, candies, box of chocolates, balloons or whatever; love what
you have and do and grab a hold of it a little extra hard and be happy with
yourself. Let your heart run a little more than usual. You don’t always need
one day to share love; it’s a state of mind.
I believe
in self-love. If you can’t love who you are, then you haven’t really lived.
Some people look at self-love as being selfish and don’t care about anyone
else; I believe that’s called Narcissism. Granted some people are downright
loathing of others and only care about themselves but real self-love is where
you appreciate and enjoy life with who you are from the inside and bring
universal strength and love for yourself. You can always love others or hate
others that’s your choice but there’s only one of you and that makes you unique
and something special. This isn't bragging about loving yourself and talking
down to people, it’s about being true to who you are and spreading that energy
to others in a beautiful and productive way.
Happy
Valentine’s Day guys and share the love you have with your loved ones or just
with yourself and have fun with what you love to do. Be strong, smile and be a
loving person.

You Are Your Own Trainer
Many people like to follow others’ programs, use their
advice and form a pattern as a follower. I believe in learning certain things
but once you get a hold of them, use them to create your own program. When you
build your own set of workouts, you learn how to develop your creativity and find
out what you’re really capable of. The exercises you really like will be your
calling and they will bring the most benefit.
Every body
is different and the way it functions to that individual, when some trainers
just push the body and don’t really know how to stop or keep going because that
person’s body can crash at any time or it can keep going without anything going
wrong. To understand how your body works, you learn to move in ways that find
meaning. Some can’t do a certain push-up or a squat because of something in
their body that prevents them but they’re capable of doing other things others
might not be able to as well. The purpose of becoming your own trainer is to
figure out what works, how it puts stress on the body that’s comfortable and
challenging. I learned that there are certain exercises that I can’t do due to
my body structure like Hindu Push-ups hurt my shoulders in a certain form of
the exercise so I need to adapt and work with my structure to make the exercise
work for me.
We all have
a creative entity within us. Those who believe they can’t be creative tend to
be great at it later on if they applied it right and those who are creative
develop a sense of intuition and imagination to find things that suit them for
their goals. The mind is a powerful tool and sometimes it can our greatest ally
and other times it can be a pain in the ass because of either stress or
something that doesn't seem to go away or whatever, sometimes it’s best to step
back and reflect on what can be useful within your own personal creative
element.
You are not
destined to be weak and think that there’s nothing for you to learn and feel
you can’t get fit and strong. What you can do is dominate your destiny, prove
to yourself you’re worthy of taking on some of the toughest challenges yet
still come out stronger than when you came in. When I was in a wheelchair, I
did at times feel I will never walk again or at least walk in a way that was
strong and vibrant. Just about every single person including doctors told me to
just rehab and build my legs according to their rules and standards, push
myself according to the way they felt was right to do. I decided to make my own
destiny and risk a lot by rehabbing myself and learn exercises and methods that
I felt were right for me to do, I got a ton of shit for it but I stuck with it
because it made me feel good, it gave me hope and I wanted to desperately get
crazy strong, supple and become a downright machine.
Build what
you want to do, even when others tell you that it’s not possible, they don’t
believe it cause they won’t do it themselves so they have to tear someone else
down. Take a chance and bend the rules, create what you want for the reasons
that give you strength and the will to make it happen.

For The Lovely Ladies
It is your
right to be beautiful. You are a gorgeous person inside and out but at the same
time; you have trouble realizing your full potential so at times you go from
extreme to the next. I've known some kick ass women in my life and all have a
common thread and that’s to be noticed for who they are, not what someone wants
them to be.
For women,
becoming fit and healthy isn't easy and most I've seen tend to find the next
big fad that will have them drop weight just like that and magically reinvent
their entire image on the outside. To be fit on the outside, you have to start
from the inside. Look to yourself and find out what you want to accomplish.
Some take it to extremes like being bulimic or anorexic to lose weight or
believe they’ll get too bulky because they lift weights. There are options that
are far healthier and far more adventurous. You don’t need the next big diet
fad or watch and “move” along with some instructor on a DVD that doesn't know
how to give a proper beginner demo.
In my
opinion, ounce for ounce I believe women are stronger than men in some physical
sense, think about it. Women have the ability to carry a shit load of groceries
and hold their child at the same time or carry a baby for 9 months. A lot of
women are more intelligent than most men (sorry guys, it’s there and you have
to accept it). You are awesome and you can improve yourself through healthy
measures by being smart about how you train, eat and what gives you a challenge
that you want to conquer and not have to resort to major extremes.
Be smart
about getting fit. Sculpting doesn't always mean bodybuilding. It can also mean
sculpting your mind, body and spirit all in a single method or variety. Don’t
resort to those crazy ass female celebs that get breast implants, those that
are skinnier than your whole leg and definitely don’t ever resort to making
yourself sick just so you can look healthy, it’s dumb and it won’t make you any
happier. Self-Image is far worse now for women than in any other time in history.
To become a powerful woman, it takes guts, standing up to become something
great.
You don’t
need to be great to start, but you have to be willing to start to become great.
It takes patience, it takes practice and it takes loving who you are and not
let those dumbass people take you down just because they might poke fun at you
or think that you’re a no good for nothing bitch, you’re better than that. You
have more power to make a difference in yourself than you can ever imagine. Be
awesome, be daring, be smart and be healthy. Don’t throw yourselves to the
wolves because some people believe you can’t do something, screw ‘em, they have
nothing on you and don’t ever let it stop you from doing something you’re proud
of or want to make a change for the better.
-If you wish to enhance your self-image I suggest you read
this book called Psycho-Cybernetics.
-If you want a fitness course that is not only designed for
women but has very basic, simple to learn exercises that will enhance your fat
burning, build strength, develop flexibility and transform your body that is
healthy, lithe and toned to your structure than I believe Body Sculpting Bodyweight Exercises For Women is just for you.
There’s
always room for improvement and you have the power to make it happen. I believe
in you but don’t take my word for it, the only person who you should believe
in, is you. Stay beautiful, be awesome and keep strong ladies, because there’s
nothing more precious than a beautiful woman inside and out.

Giving Thanks
It’s that time of year again where we give thanks to what we
have and what we have been given. As much as I love this powerful attitude, we
don’t need a single day where we give our thanks to others. However I do
believe it’s a powerful thought and a great attitude to have to be able to
bring joy and happiness to others and being thankful for doing so.
Within the
universe, we are given strength inside and outside our physical bodies and our
spirit within. I’m very thankful for the strength I've been given and the power
to keep driving to be better and build my strength physically, emotionally and
mentally one day at a time. Each one of us should not only be thankful for what
our strength creates but to keep progressing not just from a fitness standpoint
but also as a person and be open to give others a chance to learn.
One of the
greatest things you can do is to pass on your knowledge to a new generation.
Some people keep their secrets hidden because it could fall into certain hands
or believe their secret is just not worthy for others no matter who it is to
see. I personally believe that there’s always one person to pass down your
knowledge and wisdom but not for them to be like you but to become more of
themselves. I’m thankful for what I've learned and I love passing that down to
those who are willing to learn. Learning is a gift and giving that gift is a
treasure. I do believe however you don’t have to pass on every single secret
because the real secret is finding out for yourself and being thankful that you
have done it.
I want to
thank those who have come before me and those that have used what I have to
offer because I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them. You guys are awesome
and are wonderful people. You give me a reason to do what I do and you've
helped me grow in ways I can never describe. I salute you and I’m thankful for
what you've given me. Have an awesome Thanksgiving everyone and Happy Holidays J.
Have fun and be safe and for my sake, don’t trample each other on Friday.

Connection & Individuality
There’s always energy surrounding us. Sometimes we feel it
more so than others, often the majority can’t even fathom or notice it but it
is there, how we use that energy is up to us as a whole; physically,
emotionally, intuitively, spiritually and mentally. Like the force, energy
binds us, connects us and hits us from every angle even when we don’t notice
it. It’s that universal power that creates the fire and emotion we all have.
We are all
connected but also have a single body. Our connection to others has different
meanings whether you’re good or bad, part of a religion or a spiritual
enthusiast, race, creed it doesn't matter what does matter is when something is
off balance something always seems to hit us in one way or another. Connecting
with others gives you the opportunity to learn and understand where they come
from and what they mean to you but also as an individual it’s important to
learn about yourself and how you see yourself having that connection.
We strive
all our lives to find who we are as a person and for some, they become
something they didn't expect to be, others feel it’s their destiny to be apart
of something and then there are those that are forced into becoming something
they don’t want to be. Finding who you are is the ultimate challenge and it’s
never easy but once it hits you, you never want to turn back and move forward
with what you want to become. Loving others is another challenge and it’s just
as hard as finding who you are but it’s simpler. Loving another human being is
a state of mind in my opinion because no matter what they've done that may seem
hurtful or even grateful, in your mind they’re still a human being and having
some kind of love for them makes you nobler, caring, giving and having the will
power to not give into the hate.
There are
different meanings to certain things but all have a common goal; being
accepted. Accept who you are and accept who certain people are because the more
you try to change who you are or someone else, it’s just going to be a bigger
burden on you. Accept change. Not saying you should join a cult or become a
mass murderer I’m not talking that kind of acceptance, I’m talking about
acceptance that’s meaningful to you and it has a positive notion of how you want
to see the world. Our mindset is different from each person and we all see the
world in our own way but yet if you learned to shift your mind to a positive
image and feel love no matter where you go, our energy changes, our emotions
perk up, we find things that make us happy.
I’ll tell
you first hand that even around people I love and care about, some of them
don’t accept me as a person because of some of the things I do or say, hell
they can’t stand my sense of humor most of the time and it’s not a burden on
me, it’s on them but it’s up to me to learn how to control my mind and see a
more positive outlook from those who have no real positive objectives. What I’m
pointing out is that even if you’re not accepted even by those closest to you,
you must accept yourself. It’s one thing and when you learn to use it, the rest
of the world don’t mean a damn thing except you made it a priority to love the
world for what it is.

Discovering What You Love
Fitness is about discovery, finding what drives you to be in
shape and live a better life physically, emotionally and spiritually. Some find
it and learn to keep it going with changes, new ways to challenge and again
learn, others take years and don’t get anywhere because they don’t know what
really works and drag themselves along and then there are those that just hate
it and let’s leave it at that.
Being in
shape is great don’t get me wrong, you look awesome and can do cool things but
it’s important to explore new possibilities. What can you do to challenge
yourself and create different goals and setting them? There are people who get
in shape just to look like a hot shot and impress others, more power to them
for that but that can only go so far, if you look awesome but you’re an asshole
what good are you? Find ways to not only stay in shape but have the strength
and endurance to back it up. Explore what is out there, moving in different directions, being out of the gym and having to find a way to train. In the gym
it’s automatic; there’s weights, machines, mats, cardio stuff all there for you
but it’s a closed in space. Now go outside and find how to adapt and move freely with the environment around you, very different huh?
One of the
things I believe in is using your instincts, valuing intuition and sensing how
you do things, feel and understand. It’s like the Force in Star Wars; you sense
things around you, how you think and using your intuitive powers to find
different meanings. If you trust your instincts and follow your energy and
understanding it you’ll discover things you never thought before but there’s a
dark side to it (just like Star Wars) you have to pay attention or your
instincts can betray you. Learn and pay attention to how your body and mind
respond to certain things, just because you think them doesn't always make them
true. Follow how you respond to things, the more positive they are, the more
likely you’ll love doing it but also pay attention to the negative things, if
you are in pain or just don’t feel that something’s right, then you need to
adjust and find something different.
Have fun
with what you do, keep it interesting and learn to get better at it. Learn to
flow with things and do what you can to resist pushing too hard too fast (I've
done it and I've paid for it). Have patience and make it a habit to be strong
and believe that things will go the way they’re suppose to. The universe
works in odd ways but there’s always a way to make it work for you. Learn the
attitude, trust in yourself and be joyful to make things in your life happen.
