Animal Flow + Ginastica Natural= Playful Movement

Sometimes in our training, we want to have those days where rep & set schemes don't matter and just have a little fun. It's like playing hooky but from a fitness point of view. If that is the case, I just about play hooky very frequently. Routines for me don't matter as much as it does to others.  I'm a kid at heart and although I take training seriously, you want to make an adventure out of it too.

One of the reasons why I love the way Animal Flow works is that you can be spontaneous and come up with flows and combos you never expect to do, sure you learn how the movements go but after getting the basics down, what's stopping you from creating some cool moves on your own? Ginastica Natural has that same effect, it comes from different disciplines including Yoga, Gymnastics, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Animal Style movements. I love watching the master of this method at work and get a kick out of the scene from Choke where Rickson Gracie just flows through exercises and his breathing is incredible.

When you combine 2 very awesome methods, the sky's the limit and you can create so many things out of it and never be bored. It's playful movement at its finest and molding it to your abilities and creativity is just the tip of the iceberg man. Play opens up the brain and gives you the opportunity to be creative and doing something that is challenging but exciting, even eventful for that person.

It is so beautiful to see what possibilities are out there and be able to do it anytime and anywhere makes it all worthwhile. One of my favorite videos is of GN's Master Instructor Alvaro Romano is when it portrays him doing different animals and breezing through them in the jungle of Brazil. It is almost majestic yet breathtaking. Very cool video to check here.... If you want to learn the basics, go here and the DVD versions are pretty cool too as they take you through routines in a group like format.

Animal Flow has similarities to GN but focus on other components into a style that incorporates Capoeira, Gymnastics, Breakdancing & Animals. You take in exercises based on more animal specific movements and switching them out into combos, freestyle, ect.

Make it adventurous and share your progress, no matter how big or small. Be encouraging and open up your wild side. People love to see creativity at work, it's inspiring.

Taking A Page Out Of Gama, Zass & Justa

With the new Isometric Power Belt I have aquired, it has given me a new outlook on the men who have used Isometrics to better their health, fitness, overall strength and creativity. The Great Gama would tie a belt around a tree every morning for over 2 decades and tried to throw it, suplex it, push it, pull or anything to get it off its roots. It never happened but that's not the point; the point is, that tree made him so strong that he could toss opponents around like rag dolls either in practice or in competition of Kushti Style Wrestling. The belt and the tree gave him an advantage that nobody can match and was undefeated his whole career.

Alexander Zass was an old-time strongman who could bend bars, twist steel and other feats that were extraordinary in his day. He started becoming The Amazing Sampson when he was a Prisoner Of War in World War 1, breaking out of prisons a total of 4 times. He made it his mission to snap the chains that held him and bend the bars of his cell that kept him captive by straining as hard as he could until something moved or broke. He utilized Isometric Exercise in order to survive and that made him a legend among strongmen.

He took what he used and molded it to an act show of bending bars, snapping chains and twisting the toughest steel at the time. He once developed a book using Isometrics as a base for strength and exercise. He used an apparatus that was a long chain with 2 handles attached to each end. You can shorten or lengthen the chain and do a series Isometric Exercises to strengthen the muscles, tendons and ligaments of the body. Some people got so strong the chain broke and would have to replace it. The Isometric Power Belt can duplicate those same exact exercises and no way of it snapping on someone and safer to use than a chain. I did a workout one day using those exercises and felt amazing afterwards. Great training to say the least.

Steve Justa out of all three of these men has got to be the most oddball. That is what makes him great though is his uniqueness and his no BS style of training. He became a believer in Isometrics when he was bailing hay and the guy much smaller yet muscular than him was pacing like a madman and had this incredible endurance for manual labor. Steve tried for 2 years lifting and moving heavy weight but barely made a dent in his labor work; worked for a few months on isometrics and was moving faster and could keep up with his co-worker with ease and his strength was insane along with amazing stamina. Isometrics shed a great deal of body fat, developed strength in his tendons and ligaments and was doing workouts that lasted from several minutes to a couple hours, working every single angle he can come up with and varied the intensity from 30%-100%. He has a course out called Iron Isometrics that shares his story along with how diet and Isometrics got him off diabetic medication after nearly losing his life to Type 2 Diabetes. There's another book you may have heard of called Rock, Iron, Steel that also has an entire chapter dedicated to Isometrics.

With the Isometric Power Belt, that is 28 ft long you can get creative and like Justa, develop strength from all sorts of angles and work the tendons like a madman. You can hold certain positions for long periods of time or shorter periods it is up to you and what your goals are. You can work around injuries (be careful on that) and develop greater speed. The longer holds are what Justa called Aerobic Isometrics (I guess it sounded cool to him lol) where you lower the intensity of a contraction and stick to that position for 30 seconds to several minutes. Think of it like the Shaolin Monks who hold several positions such as horsestances, fingertip push-up holds, handstands and such for long periods of time. That takes serious strength and mental conditioning. This is just an idea, it's not the end-all-be-all.

Isometrics can help you go beyond plateaus and even possibly help you recover from injuries. Be careful on how you breathe during these exercises, it is very common to want to hold the breath which is a huge no-no bro. With higher intensity like around 60-85%, as you exhale breathe out the letter S as in "sssss". For longer holds and less intensity say around 30-50%, breathe as deeply and calmly as possible. With longer holds, you can get quite a cardio workout as the muscle fibers are firing and your breathing becomes a factor.

Now what are the best ways to build muscle and burn fat with Isometrics? From my experience and learning from others including people like Bud Jeffries, Steve Justa, Logan Christopher and others who have practiced Isometrics; the shorter holds with higher intensity tend to give you more definition while the longer and less intense holds give you more of that "pump" and put on more natural muscle mass. I can't prove this scientifically so it's up to you to find this out for yourself, I'm going on what has happened with me. So take a page out of Alexander Zass, The Great Gama & Steve Justa and hit up some isometrics in your training. Get the Isometric Power Belt when it is available and develop some insane strength in the process.

Obsession Can Have Toxic Effects That Can Create Toxic People

The internet is massive (Thank you captain obvious) and has loads of info that can be overwhelming at times. You have everything you can possibly research on but in the midst of all of it, there are very toxic people out there and can have an overriding obsession with certain things, some to the great extreme.

For over a decade I have been off and on forums and a part of at least a few still with a name. Mainly just learning what I can about training and seeing what works and what doesn't. Some forums have very knowledgeable people and are unsung heroes of the fitness industry but yet some take that knowledge and push it down someone's throat and if you don't agree with them, you're a bastard and a monster and don't deserve to live. I will admit I fell into a trap or 2 debating with people and all that comes out of it is worthless BS that doesn't solve a damn thing.

One forum I'm a part of is to do the best within themselves to keep the methods of Charles Atlas alive. It's far from perfect and has a lot of flaws. All I really want to pay attention to is the training methods. The problem with it is, the religious views and political aspects tend to overshadow the fun and excitement of the training protocols. Some of the training protocols are flawed as well because the man who's the big operator tends to repeat over and over the same things without channeling different ideals that can be beneficial. I'm all for sticking to your guns but there are things beyond the world of Atlas and the far too simple bodyweight methods. I do like some of the things represented like being your own trainer and learning how to individually utilize your best capabilities without the need of comparing others. Is it the best forum for information? No, not a single one is and it's because many tend to stick to their own entities and live under the rock.

Another forum I look in on consistently and need to really drop out of my life is nothing more than a place where it bashes, ridicules and downright bully's the forum and it's head guy that I just described above called Aging Macho Men 2 (Great name for the internet's Village Idiots). All they really do is talk, some are fit guys but mainly a bunch of old geezers that can't find anything positive in their lives and just are so obsessed with burying people because they themselves couldn't move on after getting banned. Talk about toxic. They've even gone as far as to just trash me because I wear my heart on my sleeve and they couldn't handle the way I fought back. Now granted, I should've known better to engage with people like them, but it's not easy considering what I'm passionate about and what gives me purpose. I was even open with them and sharing a few personal things and that went south right away. Can't trust people and it's time to walk away because life is too damn short to have toxic people in your life.

Here's an example of what I mean by these dumb fucks......

Another forum I was on a couple times recently has some people who are pretty knowledgeable and have some awesome insight, especially the main guy who runs it...Former Marine and has his own equipment he sells that can help people get kick ass results. Here's the site. On the other side of the spectrum, there are some of those same assholes from AMM2 who do nothing but bust balls. It's one thing to bust someone, but to repeat it just because it's funny to you becomes a little annoying and sad. Some have even belittle others because they think what they represent sucks and are horrible people. That's the place I had to leave twice because it just became a little too much for my taste and left me wanting to strangle someone. There are a couple guys on there that were cool with me and I was honored to share some knowledge with them and learn a thing or 2 myself but they are so obsessed with that other forum I previously mentioned (the "resurrection" of Charles Atlas) that they went as far as to actually come up with some stupid ass things like I was a spy and that I was this guy's bitch and all that stuff. This isn't the CIA dumbass and the only real thing wrong that was felt was me being friends with this guy.

The point i'm trying to make here is be careful where you go to research and befriend people. It's important to learn who you can trust because the net is full of whackos, psychopaths and grown people acting like teenage bullies. I'm not going to be remotely surprised some of these forums post this article onto their feed and start ranting about it and come up with even more negative bullshit. It just goes to show how low people will go to boost their ego or their "village" and ridicule any outsider. There are forums that people will go to to just to get shit off their chests, others will look for a fight and will either be ignored or get engaged into some of the most idiotic conversations and than there are ones where because they were let go somewhere else, they talk and want to burn the other place into the ground all or the sake of a pity party that only they will celebrate.

I know what it's like to bullied both in life and on the internet. It's a constant learning process and it's important to protect yourself. Celebs have the worst of it and I get that not all people who are famous are the sweetest people but people jump to conclusions all the time and firmly believe they have figured people out. The world is a mighty big place; full of wonders, good people, bad people and downright messed up places but there is good there somewhere. Find what excites you, gives you something to be happy about and treat people well.

Some will see this as a rant, some may see it as dumb and others may ignore it completely. I see it as a means of a warning to those who want to research and join places that might benefit them. Be careful and be amazingly awesome today.

Isometric Equipment That Develops Strength From Many Angles And Used For Suspension

A friend of mine sent me a couple of Isometric Belts that is more of a prototype but still holds awesome benefits. He put out a belt years ago one can use for developing strength from a lot of different angles and positions. The belt then was 14 ft long, this belt now is twice the length.

This belt gives you a greater variety of Isometric Exercises as you can adjust to make 2 loops instead of handles so you can do positions in the curls, deadlift, overhead press, upright rows, Shoulder Raises, resistance for the neck and a lots of other muscles that you can work. If you have a door anchor attachment; you can even use the belt for suspension training such as dips, push-ups, pull-ups, ring work, bodyweight curls, flys and a ton more. Karl Gotch once said "Always work your muscles, from every possible angle" and this piece of equipment can hit the little muscles from angles that bodyweight exercises or weights alone can't hit. This is more of an addition to your training or you can do Isometrics on your off days.

Always eager to learn and see what can benefit me, I've already locked in a number of isometrics for various muscle groups and love the feeling of them after a workout. Done right and they can even work the kinks out of muscles that might be stressful on you. I've had knee problems in the past, an on and off tense lower back and building core strength isn't easy for me but even in the short time of using this belt, I'm moving pretty fast in various movements and feeling lighter on my feet. My back feels less tense, my knees feel strong and my core is getting stronger. Now Isometrics alone won't help you in your athletic endeavors or overall health but they're a phenomenal add on and should be a part of everyone's training program. The belt makes it easier on the joints, it's no impact and you an take it anywhere. Great for traveling and makes a good piece of equipment for stretching.

Check out the pics below to get an idea of this thing. This is more of a review than anything and wanted to share my experience with it.

When it does completely come out, should be a fun use for a lot of people. You never know when it'll happen.

It Is Not Easy Being Strong When There's A World Full Of Bitterness

Everyone cannot always be brave, strong and full of enthusiasm 100% of the time, it just doesn't happen that way. Having my fair share of ups and downs, being physically weak and being beaten up physically and mentally, I understand bitterness at times. I have lashed out in a few places and even lashed out towards people I care about but in the end, it's all just being human.

Everyone at one point in their lives were weak whether physically, mentally, emotionally or all three at the same time. When we become strong, it's because in many ways, we had to fight hard in order to achieve it. After accomplishing it, what do you plan to do with it? Some people attack weaker individuals because they know they can't fight back or defend themselves by trying to speak up. Some have even had the audacity to make a headline such as Suicide For Weaker Males Might Be The Better Option. What kind of human being does that? You're basically telling someone to kill themselves because they're not strong according to your ways of life.

Some people do choose to be weak and helpless, that does happen but there's always a story there and whether we think it's boring or moronic or even pitiful it doesn't matter, there's a reason why that is. Others are weak and helpless because nobody helped them and just brushed them off and that's all they know, it is sad yes and we can't always fix everyone but we can do our damndest to try and help someone become strong. The world can be a shitty place, we have forgotten how to take care of one another even with the little things. I'm always learning how to look at things from certain perspectives. Kids today don't know a damn thing but they go on social media, bullying and thinking that they know how a person should live, how they should dress, how they should eat, sleep and be like this or that. They are already trying to figure out who they are but want to turn their confusion and frustration onto somebody else. It is a vicious cycle.

We live in a world where voicing your outrage has become the norm and it overshadows a lot of what is truly positive especially around politics, race, religion, education, social groups, fitness, sports, fashion, body types and a bunch of other things. Sometimes just breathing is hard enough for some people, why do you feel the need to attack? Many people have become so damn bitter and ruthless because of who knows what. Words can break or make a person and it hasn't been this generation that has lost it's element because of a few words. History has shown that words have either ended wars or started them, words that brought people together or have broken them a part, words that manipulated and deceived have also been words that built trust and compassion for others. Words are very powerful, sometimes far more than a deadly weapon and it's because with a deadly weapon, that could easily end a life right then and there, a few words can kill someone slowly over a period of time and suffer for it, that is worse than an easy death.

I do the best to my abilities to be a positive person, be encouraging and help someone who wants to set goals but have trouble reaching them. I'm no different or better than anybody. Bitterness brings nothing but pain and suffering. I'm not saying we should be all lovey dovey all the time but the more negative stress you put on yourself, the more of a black hole you won't be able to climb out of. Being positive can impact a person's life more than you can imagine. Sometimes all it takes is one word, one sentence, one speech, one freaking look to change a person's entire being. It isn't easy being strong in a bitter world, so show someone how to be strong, help them find that genius in them and give them a reason to be helpful to others who were once like you. Weakness can mean a lot of things, but everyone has an opportunity to be strong whether physically, mentally, emotionally or all three at the same time.

The Disneyland Workout System

If you're planning a vacation but want to still stay true to your workouts and your eating habits, there might be a way to do that and make it fun in the process. Disneyland is more than a park where families, friends, couples and kids share the fun atmosphere and go on some cool rides and meet awesome characters, it is a place to stretch your imagination and be more observant to how you apply yourself while having a blast. The most obvious way to workout at the Magic Kingdom is just by doing A LOT of walking. When you're on your feet to get to a ride or in line for food and getting an autograph, there's a few things you can do without looking like a weirdo.

One of my favorite exercises to do while waiting in line is the Wall Sit, if you access to a wall while waiting for let's say Roger Rabbit's Cab Ride, lean up against the wall, keep the back as straight as possible and sit there for as long as you can. It is a great exercise to stretch your knees and working the muscles along the low back, quads and calves. Just breathe deeply and whether you can hold it for 2 seconds or more than a minute it doesn't matter. As you move throughout the line and stop, go back to the wall sit.

You can do a great deal of exercise at your hotel before heading down to the park. The most ideal thing to do if you can help it, is to keep your workouts short so no more than maybe 20 minutes or go swimming in the pool for a while. You want to be fresh for walking around the parks and drink plenty of water. The last time I was at Disneyland was back in 2016 with my girl and we were averaging a good 8-10 miles a day just walking. For her that was plenty plus some good stretching but for me, I like a little more zass to it by doing Isometrics, a little deck of cards workouts and even hold a handstand at a place in California Adventure near Soaring Over California (Now Soarin Over The World). Just moving around the park can be tiring so you want to keep that energy up. Sometimes I walk over to a place to rest and just sit in a catcher's squat and stretch the legs a bit, other times I'll do a min-workout of VRT doing maybe 3 exercises for the upper body to get the blood pumping, it's a refresher for me.

Some rides provide you a way to work your body in order to make it a little more interesting. The Tea Cups has you steering and that can really work your arms. The shoulders, triceps, biceps and forearms all get a great workout and gives you a hell of a pump. Work those arms and try not to get dizzy. Staying stable can also be a challenge on some rides so to get the most out of your core, on some rides such as Indiana Jones, Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain, do your best to not ram yourself into the sides, keep your core muscles tight and hang on because there are times where you'll rock or be steered hard to the side.

What would be the best workout for your legs other than walking? Go up and down Tarzan's Treehouse. Hell of a cardio booster and you will work practically everything and to make it more interesting, go up two steps at at time instead of one at a time. If there's a ride that has stairs, use them to your advantage. You can burn a hell of a lot of calories at the parks.

Now granted Disneyland doesn't have the greatest quality of healthy foods, you can still find some if you're willing to look for it. Near the Jungle Cruise there's a stand where it provides fruit to help with solid nutrition and hydration. Awesome Fish Tacos at a restaurant near the Golden Horseshoe, great salad options at Pizza Port and some cool healthy sandwiches to find. If staying healthy is important, make it work for you. If you need to kickback a little and have a fun meal, I love to grab a burger near Splash Mountain or get some meaty skewers at the Bengal BBQ. Can't go wrong with a good sandwich on Main Street man.

Make your workouts fun while visiting the parks and have a blast, don't take things too serious and be yourself. Eat the best to your ability and if you happen to grab a pizza or a burger some place, don't worry so much, you'll have plenty of exercise to burn it off by the walking.

Do You Get Enough ‘Muscle Sleep?'

Do you ever feel like you’re really pushing yourself at the gym only to see little to no result in muscle growth?

You’re working out consistently. Putting the time in. Heck, you feel like you’re one of the hardest workers at the gym.

But do your results say different?

You look in the mirror, expecting to see some awesome muscle growth.

And while you notice some improvement, you feel like the big results aren’t coming. The kind of eye-popping results you’ve been dreaming of.

It’s almost like your body is fighting back and refusing to grow.

There are many reasons you can hit a plateau in muscle growth. A big one could be nutrition.

But assuming you have that dialed in, you might also want to check in on your sleeping habits.

You can guzzle protein shakes, scarf down rotisserie chickens, and lift all the weights you want. But your muscles won’t start growing until you shut them down for the night. This happens when we sleep.

While 7-9 hours of sleep per night is a good start, what if I told you deep sleep was even more important when it comes to muscle growth?

Would you believe me?

Even better, what if I told you there is a way to guarantee you’ll increase your deep sleep every night?

Imagine the key to packing on big muscle...happens while you snooze.

Are you interested in that?

The truth is: Quality sleep increases your bodies ability to build muscle.

Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is your best friend when it comes to muscle growth and recovery. Among other functions, our bodies need it to actually use the amino acids present in the protein we eat.

HGH floods our bloodstream when we sleep. So to ensure you get the most out of it, you need quantity and quality sleep.

The problem is… our culture has a poor relationship with sleep. Everybody likes to brag about how hard they work. We often pick on people when they say they’re ‘tired’ like it’s a sign of weakness.

People might tell you ‘I only sleep 4-6 hours a night’ like it’s a badge of honor. But it’s not, especially in the long-term.

A 2011 study on sleep deprivation showed those who sleep 5.5 hours per night had 60% less lean muscle mass at the end of the study, while those who slept 8.5 hours had 40% more muscle mass.

A 2008 study by Dr. Bret Jacobson showed a lack of sleep hinders energy levels and affects performance. It also makes us susceptible to mood swings. Mood swings have a direct impact on our desire and motivation, leaving us more likely to perform worse and even quit altogether.

It might seem difficult to always get optimal sleep.

Sometimes our kids keep us up. Or a neighbor's dog barks all night. Or we’re traveling and sleeping in an unfamiliar environment.

There are many variables that come into play.

But there is a way to ensure you get the most out of your sleep. Guaranteed or your money back.

The herb we have for quality sleep is called Ziziphus, and we’re sure you’ll be able to recharge your battery better with it.

This herb increases your REM cycles and puts you into stage 3 deep sleep.

There are four stages of sleep, and stage 3 deep sleep is where all the magic occurs.

In deep sleep, the body increases production and reduces the breakdown of proteins. Proteins are the building block of cell growth and help repair the damage such as stress.

Ziziphus can help you get more deep sleep through its high content of saponins. These saponins provide sedative effects.

This herb also promotes deep sleep by increasing the neurotransmitter GABA’s inhibitory action on the arousal system.

GABA is essential for sleep because it basically turns everything ‘off.’

Getting more deep sleep will make 7 hours of sleep feels like 9 hours.

Not only that but Ziziphus also…

Contains a high amount of anti-oxidants, making it ideal for ridding your body of free-radicals
Tastes great. You won’t have to choke this one down unlike some of the other herbs
Has a calming effect on the mind
Contains 115% of your daily Vitamin C value in one serving to help with skin and hair
Can provide relief from constipation

Hercules Formula - Better Workout Guaranteed

Are you an athlete? Do you work out?

If so, I want to tell you about something that will make your workouts better. Something that will give you more energy and allow you to get better results.

In fact, I can guarantee it.

When I personally take this herbal formula, the main benefit I notice is that I have increased work capacity. That means I have the ability to do MORE. I am stronger. I have more endurance. I can go longer. I can train harder. And, despite doing more, doing so comes with more EASE. Some other athletes really like how it helps keep them focused and driven too.

What am I referring too?

A potent herbal combination called Hercules Pre-Workout Formula.

But don’t take my word for it. Here’s what a few happy customers have said: (And I’ll get to the guaranteed part soon enough…

Josh (verified owner) – November 3, 2018
Rated 5 out of 5 stars

“Feel as powerful as the gods” is really what you’ll feel with this stuff. I’ve only used it once so far and I’ve never felt stronger in my life. I could’ve tripled my workout for the day and still been ready for more. I can already tell that it’s truly what I needed to propel my fitness to the next level. Will be coming back for more!”

Zach L. (verified owner) – April 2, 2018
Rated 5 out of 5 stars

“This works very well as a pre-workout supplement. I agree with others when they say it gives you the energy and power to get through your workouts. Recovery time between sets is less and you have that extra oomph! to get that last rep or extra reps…”

Keli (verified owner) – March 2, 2018
Rated 5 out of 5 stars

“I'm writing this review halfway through my workout to say this is an awesome pre-workout formula. I usually get tired around this time and my routine slows down a bit with lighter weights….however, I’m still going strong with heavy weights and don’t even feel fatigued yet, I just keep going…”

Now how can I say it's guaranteed?

I’ll be the first to admit that nothing works for EVERYONE. This includes Hercules.

That’s why there is an unconditional 365-day money-back guarantee. Try it and see for yourself. Many people will notice the benefits from the first dose and the very first workout.

Just imagine stepping into the gym, or onto the mat, and surprising yourself with how much easier your training is.

Imagine taking this formula and setting a new personal record. It has happened to many people!

Worst case scenario, it doesn’t work for you and you get your money back.

To be honest and fair, here’s a review from someone that it did nothing for:

Adam MacDonald (verified owner) – April 9, 2018
Rated 2 out of 5

“I’ve upped the dose twice, still does nothing. I guess it just doesn’t work for me.”

Why Do We Get Inspired By Something That Isn't Real?

Fiction gives off a sense of what can be imagined and utilizing different elements of characters, places, structures, story, genres and more. Although there are things much more stranger or more inspiring than fiction, we cling onto the creative imagination and perceive to take it as the real deal or what we can accomplish in our own lives.

When it comes to fitness, the classic physical culturists of the late 19th and early 20th, centuries were very much real but some of their exploits can be constructed as fiction or over exaggeration. We get inspired by magazines, books, dvds, seminars and seeing what is possible but we also know what we see in our minds sometimes is fiction until it becomes a reality. Many athletes are inspired by Fictional character Rocky Balboa; the training montages, the drama, the fights, just ooze inspiration. Hell there is an actual statue in tribute to a character. We as a people, made something that doesn't actually exist in the real world but we make it seem real because it is that inspiring.

Comic Book heroes inspire people from all walks of life; from writers, to athletes, artists, storytellers and more and many have been successful in their endeavors because of being inspired by comic books. Ronda Rousy is a UFC Hall Of Famer, Former UFC Champion, Undefeated until her last 2 fights, is in the WWE as the champion on Monday Night Raw; she is inspired by anime such as Dragon Ball Z with her favorite character as Vegetta. Companies are inspired by comic books such as Onnit with their rendition of Marvel Heroes like Spider-Man, Iron Man & Captain America onto their products.

Although fiction depicts what doesn't exist, we create reality in our minds and even into reality itself with inventions and constructing new buildings, statues, toys and others to give ourselves or others the ability to see what can be real in a form of context. There are statues of Greek, Irish, Scottish, Roman & Latin heroes that are of pure myth but yet we see them all around the world as an inspiration for what is possible and timeless.

Some people pick on others for using fiction to factor their inspiration into the real world. We use fiction as a creative mechanism and structure our imaginations to find something amazing to bring to life. Read a book, workout from a theme by a superhero, build amazing structures, bring fiction into the world through your imagination. Let's face facts, in reality, fiction at some point, becomes real.

Meditation Practice

I'm one of those people that forgets to remind himself at times to put in meditation practice. It's not about finding the time, it's really more about getting things to shut down so you can think straight. I'm not going to lie, it hasn't been an easy road to the wedding i'm helping plan and put money into. Although we have gotten a lot done, there's still some things to finish up and it's 3 months away.

I practice my Magical Imagineering Theater mediation quite a bit but not a meditation to just let everything sink in and go to a place where everything is off to the side and I can just chill out and be in an imaginary room or outdoor environment where I have complete freedom to create or go anywhere I want. We all live some hectic lives and we don't always give ourselves the time to just relax and let the world go by for a while, even for just a few minutes.

I had learned a technique from Psycho Cybernetics about being comfortable in a quiet setting and imagine myself being in a room or an outdoorsy place that I can create in my mind where everything is off to the side and just relax and calm down. I imagine myself walking down steps to a beach I'm familiar with back in California and sit on the sand. Nobody's around, nothing can harm me, it's warm, the water is calm and everything I picture is peaceful and magical. Now to many people that sounds like Mumbo Jumbo and why don't I just face the real world instead; sometimes we need to back away from reality to recharge our mental batteries. Our imaginations can create or be whatever we want it to be. It's about putting things in perspective and not being succumbed to negative bullshit and letting your mind at ease.

I'm not perfect at doing meditation often and I'm learning to be more in tuned with it because I do have issues of anger, frustration, impatience and anxiety and it's important for me to get a handle on them. They're never going to go away, but they can be toned down little by little and living a better life without extreme stress every second of the day. The mind is like a muscle and needs quality training. So for today, take 5 minutes and go to a place where you feel peaceful and creating that place any way you see fit; it can be tropical, it can be in a cabin in the winter, near a river, in the desert, in a holy place, make it whatever you wish and let it be your sanctuary. Your imagination is endless and your world is your oyster. I will learn to do the same with you because we're in this together and the world can use a little recharge (:

Combining The Hindu Pushup And Hindu Squat

Using simple exercises can make an impact on your training as you may have noticed; however, combining different exercises into one big movement can really take on a realm of fitness that would send your workout into the stratosphere. Such movements as the Hindu Squats & Hindu Push-ups have been a staple for fitness for centuries and in the last 20+ years, have been foundational for people all over the world and not just in athletics but from businessmen, stay at home moms/dads, travelers, corporate managers, high school students, college students, doctors, lawyers, therapists, coaches and others. These movements were originally intended for keeping wrestlers in peak physical condition and now have been for those who want to stay in shape or get in shape again after reaching 40.

The gold standard for these exercises was to do 250+ Hindu Push-ups in a row and 500 Hindu Squats in a row which was set by the late Karl Gotch. Now there is a move you may see Hindu Wrestlers do which looks like a combination of the two that really amps up their conditioning. It's similar to our modern day Burpee which is a conditioning movement for countless athletes in various fitness communities such as Crossfit. Some call it a Hindu Burpee, others the Hindu Squat/Push up Combo and whatever names they may call it but it's safe to say it's a hell of a movement and there are different ways to do it.

I've tried this out a couple times using push up handles for the Hindu Push-up point and it is a scorcher for the lungs and the longer you go, the crazier your cardio is. Now this doesn't mean you keep going until your form becomes sloppy, that's one way of injuring yourself and also it's done at a greater clip than usual but can be slowed down so you can focus on the technique. Shooting for 10 at first is a good start and build from there. When it comes to movements like this, I don't really like counting reps unless there's a specific goal involved like I do with animal movements, just go with it and move. I would keep going until I feel fatigued so when I recover, I can do better the next time around. The Hindu Wrestlers would do their variation and do them in the hundreds to even thousands of reps, that alone would make anyone have endurance for days and if you're a combat athlete or other sports athlete, imagine the level of conditioning that will have you lasting longer than many of your top competitors.

Karl Gotch once said "Conditioning is your greatest hold." Vince Lombardi said "Fatigue makes cowards of us all." And John Wooden has said "Conditioning is essential to success in basketball." Beyond just sports, regular conditioning training is a fundamental component for many areas of life such as being able to keep up with kids as a parent, the ability to save someone's life, a factor if you're ever in a fight and it lasts longer than it needs to be, manual labor and many other elements. Let's make one thing clear, I don't believe in the "No pain, no gain" bullshit so if you're in pain, stop and take care of yourself, do something that works for you and your goals. There is a difference between pain and discomfort, discomfort can be daunting but you can keep going, the thing is to be aware. Some people can withstand pain and some can't. If you're in a sport, injuries are common but they don't have to be common with you so be careful but don't ever not challenge yourself either.

Take a shot at this exercise and see how you do. How many can you do before form becomes scarce and how long can you go without fatiguing?

A Full-Frontal Assault On Work Burnout

Put on your bronze helmet and grab your dory spear.

It’s time to embrace your inner Spartan.

This one is guaranteed to give you more energy and less stress, or your money back.

That’s correct.

We’ll send your money back if this formula doesn’t give you…

More gusto for workouts
Greater endurance levels to push through when your body’s screaming ‘Quit now’
More relaxation — even under pressure
Higher levels of focus
For the formula, it takes the best adaptogens and packs them into one, high-quality bag.

By taking this, you’ll flood your body with extra layers of energy.

You’ll also feel a waterfall of relaxation wash over you.

It is called ‘Spartan’ Formula.

It’s built so you can go balls to the wall as the ancient warriors did in every battle.

Let’s be honest.

A Spartan’s life wasn’t easy.

In fact, aspiring Spartans were often beaten during training to measure their toughness.

While you won’t be flogging yourself to test this one (we hope), we know you could still use a boost in other ways.

Maybe you’ve just taken on a big project and want to prevent your brain from skidding into a smoky cloud of burnout.

Perhaps you keep giving up too early in workouts.

This will help you plow through those important moments where your body tells you ‘Ok, we’re done here.’

Maybe kids or relationships are wearing you out. And you don’t want to snap and say something you later regret.

This formula keeps you cool when you know getting hot isn’t the best option.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what's put into it.

Eleuthero

This herb was a favorite of Russian soldiers during the Cold War. They used it to test soldiers ability to withstand grueling cold conditions. It was also used by Russian athletes during the Olympics, which allowed them to become a dominating force. To date, they’ve accrued over 1,800 medals, second only to the United States.

A study on mice showed the compounds in Eleuthero prevented lactic acid buildup. Lactic acid is that soreness feeling you get after pumping iron or doing cardio. This burning can slow down or even halt your athletic activity.

Imagine how far you could push yourself if you didn’t hit a wall of white-hot pain 10 minutes into an intense workout.

Schisandra Berry

Is the gold standard of tonic herbs. It’s the only adaptogen in all of Chinese Medicine that enters all 12 meridians.

These include the…

Kidney
Pericardium
Triple Warmer
Lung
Large intestine
Small intestine
Liver
Bladder Spleen
Heart
Stomach
Gallbladder

In short, it’s got a lot of power. It combines the five tastes, salty, sour, bitter, pungent and sweet into one. As an adaptogen, Schisandra’s primary powers come in the form of fighting stress.

This herb has been shown to…

Reduce cortisol levels (the stress hormone) in the body
Control changes in serotonin and adrenaline caused by stress
Fight adrenal fatigue caused by stress
Help with night vision

Rhodiola

This adaptogen is great for stress. It does this by decreasing or preventing hormonal changes tied to prolonged stress. It’s known as ‘The Golden Root’ or ‘Arctic Root’ and survives in the harsh mountains of Europe and Asia.

Rhodiola also…

Increases your red blood cell count so you can fight fatigue
Reduces effects of depression through its high concentration of Rosavin
Aids in weight loss as a fat burner
Cordyceps

Rounding out our Spartan is one of the most potent medicinal mushrooms for energy. One of the biggest indicators of energy during exercise is our ATP levels. Nerd alert. ATP, also known as Adenosine Triphosphate, is a complex organic chemical that provides energy to drive many processes in living cells. These processes include muscle contraction, nerve impulse propagation, and chemical synthesis.

This makes ATP the most direct and rapid energy source to exercise. In a recent study, female mice given Cordyceps and forced to swim saw a 151.2% increase in ATP. (Note: we do not condone animal testing. This information in this message is for educational purposes only).

This herb was definitely one that had to be included in an endurance formula. Does this sound like enough natural power for stress?

Indian Clubs For Baseball Training

In the old days of the National Pastime, there weren't too many gyms around that helped ball players get stronger, faster and in those days the biggest guy wasn't more than 210 lbs. They built their reputation by mainly just being ball players and the strategies were different, the hardest hitting teams didn't total any more than 20 Home Runs a season. There was one tool ball players did use but it isn't known which teams really used it however; one team that featured it was written in a newspaper/magazine way back in 1934, the middle of the Depression. The tool they used were the Indian Clubs.

During Pre-Season/Spring Training, coach Judson Hyames put his players through a regimen of Indian Club Training to develop suppleness and mobility in their wrists before they did their throwing and hitting. Apparently this coach knew his stuff because this kind of training and other areas of developing skills made this Ball Club a wrecking crew on the diamond as they were undefeated for a 2 year period and in 1934, went 14-1. They were the Western State Teachers College Baseball team and under Hyames, they had a 166-62-2 record.

The clubs are a smart way of training the body for your sport whether it be baseball, tennis, MMA, wrestling, basketball or others. They work the small muscles and increase strength and flexibility in the joints along the shoulders, forearms and elbows. They open up the chest and develop great Range Of Motion. Grab a pair and have at it, learn the movements and see what you can develop.
