Dopamineo Playlist To Help Get You Started

When you get an idea in your head and have something good going on, you might as well share it and see where it leads. For a while now in addition to my Dopa Band Workouts, I wanted to create a playlist on my YouTube to show some basic moves you can do with the Band. Some are a little more advanced and others are the basics with the volume turned up so do speak.

These bands are insanely fun to use and the creativity you can get from them are limitless. It doesn't matter if you're a wrestler, MMA Fighter, Fitness Nut or a bad ass Olympic Champion; Dopa Bands create a unique way to build strength and conditioning that not only lasts but enhances your energy levels, the way you move and the way you can have a better quality of life. That's why I created the playlist to showcase what you can do at least on a simpler level. Exercises you can start with and build a foundation on.

They're not just for building athleticism and fitness, they can be great for rehab/prehab, mobility training, flexibility, rotational work, loosening up muscles and a hell of a lot more. From time to time, I'll use them to loosen up my back and legs. My joints always feel amazing after training with them and because they're not time constricted, you can get in something great in as little as 5-10 minutes. If you wish to go longer, that's awesome, you get to decide what could work for you and take the amount of steps needed to get better and better.

Now, one of the perks of getting a band is that once you learn some of the exercises that can get you started, you can access even more tutorials from the DopamineO company themselves that will send your fitness into the stratosphere. Get your hands on workouts and exercises from World & Olympic Champions, MMA Tournament Winners, College Wrestlers and other Pro Athletes that will showcase their explosiveness, strength, power, speed, reactions and more that made them some of the very best on the planet. I can give you samples of things that can get you going and have some fun with, but when you learn from the cream of the crop, you'll find out what you're capable of and harnessing a new level of cardio that is just unbelievable.

One of my favorite exercises is the Squat & Row Combo which is very simple, take the band, Squat down, come back up and pull towards the rib cage. Nothing too complicated and works multiple muscle groups which can aid in conditioning training along with agility. I do this often in my own training doing either circuits or HIIT Workouts where I would do this for up to a minute or so with other exercises for a total of 15-30 minutes of a full workout. It's great as it can be used to train for wrestling working on the duck under and pulling your opponent in for the kill or it can be done to work on knee mobility and working the upper back muscles to build strength for rehabbing. There are so many things this exercise can do it's nuts yet it's so simple to do.

With practice, a good work ethic and utilizing your imagination, these bands will benefit you in ways that I can't even fathom and who knows what you'll be able to do. You can take them anywhere, even to the gym to use for rest periods, warm ups, cooldowns, finishers or part of your routine. You can bring them to the park like you'll see with some of the exercises in this playlist. Take them down to the Lake and work on some stuff before going swimming like the Propeller for example. It is a great companion for at home training or to travel with.

In this playlist there are more than a Dozen exercises at your disposal to get you started that range from working specific muscles to explosive training and combo moves. Grab a band today and start on the path to a new you and have a kick ass time. Don't forget to use my Discount Code POWERANDMIGHT to get 10% OFF your order. You got this and keep being amazingly awesome.

Taking It One Day At A Time

Being aware of what you can and can't do can be hard at times but it's also important to know what you need to do in order to stay healthy in the long run. DDP Yoga has done wonders for me beyond the healing of my sciatica and it's one of the things I will continue to do regularly, not as a necessity but as a program to enjoy so I can do other things as well. I've even started filming again and getting back into doing what I love such as the demo below showcasing some of the moves I do in DDP Yoga.

I don't flare up as much anymore and have been doing more walking lately especially wearing my 40 lb weight vest which I have done 2-3 times now. Another thing I'm excited to have done again was 500 Step Ups which I hit last night. Paced myself and listened to my body. The last few times I started at about 50, then 100 and 250. Last night, I hit 250, it felt easy and did 300 and felt like I can keep going and 500 wasn't too difficult so I went after it. No pain, no flare up or anything. I got a little emotional afterwards because Step Ups is one of my favorite leg exercises and doing 500 reps again made me incredibly happy. I have to thank DDP Yoga for giving my legs the strength and conditioning to pull that off again.

Today, did a 25 min or so DDP Yoga workout from the APP called Super Body Flow which Dallas would transition from one move to the next in quick sequence fashion and it felt great. Mostly just basic stuff but it got me loosened up and get that heart rate going. Normally just stick to the DVDs which are great as is. Have yet to do the Extreme Psycho Workout again, have done the Diamond Cutter & Double Black Diamond workouts a couple times now which are roughly an hour to over an hour a piece. Those are nasty motherfuckers to do so I'm building myself up. Most workouts are around 30 minutes to an hour doing either stand alone workouts or doing a mix of workouts into one to keep things flowing like Fat Burner & Energy, The 10 min Warm Up mixed with Below The Belt or something like that.

I've even tried a couple Sandbell Workouts recently as well doing my 2x shoulder carry workout using my 20 lber to work up to doing that type of training again. Did a 10 min workout with that and then filmed myself doing a 5 min micro workout of rowing to chest and shouldering my 70 lb Sandbell. That was hard to do since it has been a while and didn't go as fast as I normally would but I did ok with it being some time away from it. There were concerns about my form but I' am good and I will do better next time. It's a work in progress to training myself to do some of what I did before. There are things however that I won't be doing again and that's doing explosive twisting movements again like I did with the Dopa Band or hundreds of squats in a row, if I'm doing hundreds of squats again, it'll be a deck of cards type workout mixing in step ups but doing 500 Squats in a row isn't in the cards for me, I get plenty of Squat Work with the DDP Yoga, doing slower and holding positions and that feels way better to me than doing hundreds of squats.

It's all about taking it one day at a time man and doing things that are of value to you in the long run. I'm just itching to get the hammer back out and hitting the tire again, carrying a rock, swimming in the lake, hiking and doing all sorts of stuff. You do what you can and make the most of it. Train to do things that help yourself and others and strengthen your body while being flexible and able to keep the blood flowing to the joints. Mobility work is a key ingredient to having a healthy body long term. Strength is definitely a part of it but temporary strength will only get you so far, be able to use that strength as long as needed and not always what you can lift in the moment.

Have an amazingly awesome day and hope you have a good start to the week.

Why I Stopped Talking In My Youtube Videos

The attention span of today isn't all that great and for a lot of reasons. A major thing is from Social Media where you have so many things to view that it can be hard to keep up and the truth is, you can't keep up so what's to really focus on. Some live their whole lives and document every single fucking thing in order to feel that they'll be remembered. Hell being a celebrity seems to be far easier today than it was even 25 years ago. All you have to do is make one little comment or show some skin and wham bam, many will come and will either love you or hate you.

Some people will go on youtube and get things off their chest and rant about how much the world sucks and how men are so weak that they can't take a blow to the face by a feather. Others may feel threatened because of something someone said that was not all that was the truth yet took it to the extreme believing that person is trying to bruise their business. Get real bro. I used to talk quite a bit in my videos over the years and quite frankly, I had enough for certain reasons.....

I don't have a ton of patience to explain shit to people about exercises that could raise more questions than answers. Talking to an audience isn't my strong suit and don't look at the camera very much. If I start talking, it could be very short or too long for someone or even for my taste. I always felt like my writing did the talking for me and just film doing exercises and workouts because they're right there and don't need to really say anything, most of them are very self explanatory. Other people are far better at that than I'll ever be like Logan Christopher, Al Kavadlo, Matt Schifferle, Matt Furey and others. The only way I was able to really talk was because it takes me back to doing performances and scenes when I was in School. In middle school, I was in the choir and performed in various places through Santa Cruz like schools, a nursing home, the mall and at the Coconut Grove at the Boardwalk. In High School, I performed in Drama doing plays like Brigadoon, Wizard Of Oz, Once Upon A Mattress and Singing In The Rain mainly doing dance sequences and only one scene in that entire era where I talked, have fun guessing which one and which scene (only those that were there and know me IRL know).

For the most part, I 'am camera shy and I get nervous pretty easily. Shit I'm not that great as an interview or giving an interview, it's difficult for me. When I stopped and realized that the best way for me to do videos is to just do what I love and shut up. It worked and that makes me feel confident in being on camera. That has somewhat helped me evolve into someone showing his journey without the need to say much or at all. Just do your thing and if someone has a question, do it in an email or in a comment. I may not have the coolest gadgets or do the most perfect form of exercise but I do what I can and make the most of what I know and understand. Some have it, some don't and I'm one of those people who doesn't need to talk in order to get my point across.

Some don't have it but try anyway and I applaud the effort but if you're going to overexplain along with belittling people, you either need some fixing or use a completely different approach. If you're trying to appeal to a specific audience that's great but not everyone is going to want to listen and then try to view you doing something. Can you improve on it, of course. Even for me I may find some words in future videos but just do what you love and train. Just putting it out there can be nerve wracking especially if you're new to it. That's what made it painfully obvious to me was the talking, the moment I learned to shut up and go, things just shot up like a rocket.

There are so many youtubers, influencers, gurus, trainers and such but an extreme few ever will make it big and better yet, a fraction of them are actually that good and have helped many people. Some are great at explaining things and teaching the mechanics but others just want to run their mouth and act like nobody comes close to what they do, it's sad. I'm sorry but if you're going to boast about how great you are and that you can "coach, train, take you by the hand – and SCRUFF hehe – and WHIP your ass into shape like NO-ONE else out there, I repeat, NO-ONE comes close – even can come close to 'can'" than that's borderline narcissistic and need to fix those loose screws man.

If you've mastered at talking on camera, keep at it and showcase the best to your abilities, if you're just great at showing stuff and don't need to explain it on film, that's great too. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Have fun and be amazingly awesome in your endeavors.

Listening With Eyes Open

Sounds kind of odd don't you think? Sometimes, things just sound weird but there's a perspective about it. When it comes to meditation, for some people it can be difficult because the idea is to learn how to shut your brain off, have a point to focus on and breathe deeply. Some people are more keen to visualization, others are more auditory meaning sounds are more their thing. I'm in the auditory category, I'm better understanding sounds than visualizing something. If I can't really picture it and try to form it in my mind, it can be very hard.

For me, meditation is very specific and just sitting quietly isn't always easy. Certain things just work like when I write, I need complete privacy, little to no sounds around me and focus on the task at hand. It can be meditative. Meditation specifically, I want to see, hear and feel what I'm meditating. At times, meditation to me is moving like doing Animal Movements or a good workout. Now, what I have found helps with listening, seeing and feeling, is watching videos on youtube called Rain Rider Ambience. These videos show various settings and the sounds to go with those settings such as: A beach with hammock, picnic area, fire pit and the sounds of the waves coming up to the sand. Another would be a woodsy type area where there's a tent with trees blowing in the wind to the sounds of the wind and windchimes. One of my favorites is like a forest area with a treehouse and a pond next to it with sounds of the frogs and other woodland creatures.

This is my favorite form of meditation in the sense of being able to relax, just listen and take in a view of the video. Having headphones on is a cool thing to use cause you get to experience the sounds from another perspective. I do it often but definitely could use some improvements. These videos are extremely long, as long as 10 hours but you don't need to watch the whole thing, a good 20-30 minutes is best. I would sometimes just watch and listen for 15 minutes and I'm falling asleep pretty easily. It's an idea.

Meditating has enormous benefits and has been around for god knows how long, the dawn of thinking LOL? There are many ways to get into a meditative state, some are basic but others can be really out there. Hell, there are people who listen to metal and can be in a relaxed state, others go to places and just soak up the environment like at a lake, a coastal beach, camping, next to their fireplace or wherever. Find what puts you in a relaxed state of mind and be able to feel that level of peacefulness and tranquility. Sounds New Agey doesn't it? Well, it's not, whatever you find meditative, use it to be at peace with yourself. Here a few of the videos of RRA I was talking about.
